Dolphins chatter box LBer Channing Crowder announced he'll be doing a 1-hour radio show on Fridays at 7-8 pm with 560AM each week.

reminds me when Bryan Cox, another loudmouth, used to have his weekly one hour show with Hank Goldberg..

Every week he talked about how he loved to eat anything with grease... So the station started ordering a ton of fried food for him every week and he munched on his grease in the studio.

I'm sure the Fat A$$ Hank Goldberg feasted well on that greasy buffet too.

I wonder what important topics Channing might cover on his radio show... Foreign policy, pros and cons of globalization, over-consumption? Or perhaps he will just stick to what he knows: Talking **** about opponents and not backing it up on the field.

Maybe he'll speak on the subtle nuances of making (or missing) tackles 7-8 yards downfield or covering the TE from a trail position 3-5 yards behind.

Screw that it's about time he's got his own radio hour.

CK you can't be serious? Why does he deserve his own radio show? I have an idea, let's give him 10 minutes a week for every sack he's had in his career. So far, he's entitled to 15 minutes. Nate Jones gets 50 minutes...

You guys are too harsh on him. Since when do we judge ILBs by sack totals? You judge them by whether or not people are running on us. You judge them by runningbacks' success in catching the ball on us. You judge them SOMEWHAT by TE coverage but really they're supposed to be pretty limited in covering TEs down the field...that's more of a safety's job.

The guy didn't start off the season so hot but he's been good in the last couple of games. You go ahead and take a look at the way he plays. Really focus in on him. I don't know where anyone gets that "tackles 7-8 yards down the field" nonsense from but it's not based on reality. He makes tackles at or near the line of scrimmage...or behind it. He plays within the system, which is NOT designed to funnel everything toward him like a 4-3 would be. He is unselfish, he'll fill a hole or turn a ball carrier in to where there's help. The Dolphins allowed a 100+ yard rusher, when? When Channing Crowder was out of the game.

Hey if you guys don't believe me, then that's fine. I've done the research. I've tallied the yardage stats from 2008. I've looked closely at the film. I'm comfortable in my opinion that from 2008 to 2009 he has been a good but not great linebacker.

I'm not going to argue with your analysis because clearly you've done much more than me. Also, you obviously understand the roles and responsibilities of each player more than I. However, you can't sit here and tell me that Channing is not over aggressive at times and doesn't over pursue on certain plays then ends up caught out of position.
Also, i understand that it isn't necessarily the job of an ILB to get to the QB and make sacks, however for a 3/4 year starter to only have 1.5 sacks at any position is shocking.

Oh and the fact that we gave up 100+ yards in a game Channing wasn't playing has less to do with Channing and more to do with the #2 running offense in the NFL IMO. The Jets ran for 600 yards in their 2 previous games. Channing or no Channing they would have ran for 100.

And the Saints had no problem running for well over 100 yards WITH Channing Crowder in there.

Crowder was getting run over in that game.

I think the saints had almost 140 yards rushing in that one.. Our run defense has a lot more to do with our defensive line talent than it does with anything involving Channing Crowder.

Miami's run defense was ranked dead last in the NFL in 2007.. With Crowder.

so much for that argument.

You are correct sir, but I think CK stated that we hadn't allowed a yard rusher (i.e. individual) not team.

I don't see how this helps the team at all, that said, it'll be the most entertaining hour ever.

YES!! 560 AM!! too bad for powerlines...

He might as well have one on Sundays too.....from noon to 3....
