I know he had a very good pre-season, and although I didnt pay much attention to him yesterday while watching the game, he looked like he was having a good game. What does everyone here think about his performance against the Jets?
 
Bell and Crowder had 10 tackles each, 7 solo and 3 ast. Bell had 1 forced fumble. Good solid stats.
 
I cant say anything bad about Crowder he was solid. Nothing amazing, but a solid preformance.
 
Crowder is the spiritual leader of this defense, whether people like it or not. This is his year to prove hes worth keeping around.
 
Here is a break down of the plays


20-T.Jones left guard to NYJ 39 for 3 yards (52-C.Crowder).

4-B.Favre scrambles left tackle to NYJ 42 for 3 yards (52-C.Crowder; 55-J.Porter).

4-B.Favre pass short left to 89-J.Cotchery to MIA 30 for 11 yards (52-C.Crowder).

20-T.Jones right end to NYJ 26 for 9 yards (52-C.Crowder; 55-J.Porter).

29-L.Washington left guard to NYJ 31 for 2 yards (52-C.Crowder).

20-T.Jones left guard to NYJ 41 for 5 yards (52-C.Crowder).

4-B.Favre pass short left to 86-C.Baker to MIA 24 for 29 yards (52-C.Crowder, 37-Y.Bell).

29-L.Washington left end to NYJ 32 for 1 yard (52-C.Crowder).

20-T.Jones up the middle to MIA 28 for 3 yards (52-C.Crowder; 37-Y.Bell).

20-T.Jones up the middle to NYJ 22 for 4 yards (52-C.Crowder).
 
Still got a lot to offer. Looked sharp last night. Roth, on the other hand... (Except for the obvious play!)
 
Crowder cover skills can be better but I would like to draft a stud LB like Rey Malaluga still.
 
Crowder has to do more to prove he's worth keeping around....

Hasn't made a play since his rookie year....

Abused in coverage yesterday....

Same ol' Crowder...

Just average....

He's more of the class clown with his bubbly personality than the leader....

I say let him walk and upgrade....

I'm going to give him a B- for yesterday. He has definitely improved in playing the run. No more stupid over pursuit that opens up a huge cutback.

His pass defense was just ok. For some reason, he never seems to get enough depth on his zone drops, and he gave up a big gainer on an underneath pass because he tried to do too much. If he had anticipated the receiver coming across the middle, he could have blown the guy up for a huge hit and probably a fumble.
 
Still alot to learn but he is a good player to have, now we need another Zach Thomas but bigger or someone like Raven Lewis, but i think a couple of good line backers can make up for one. Kinda like the Steelers. I feel Roth needs to swap with Tarbor or someone more becuz he isnt good at coverage and he is bad with angle with over pursing the ball carrier.

I think u have him mixed up with Joey Porter as the class clown. makes no sense to let a good player walk. A good young player.

you're nuts. he was in on damn near every play. two passes could have been better defended but that was about it. he finally showed that he could be the leader of the defense. come the next few games, all the 'let crowder walk' talk will be over. i see pro bowls for him in the near future.
