Channing Crowder!

The gators LB core has not been great this year. They were horrible at stopping the run. Crowder is good against the pass. He can cover a TE 10 times better than Zack. Just don't expect much from him on run support.

Ron Zook is no longer his coach. I think we should wait until he plays and shows "US" what he's got before we decide what he can and can't do. If all the hype is true about him it wasn't his talent that made him a poor run stopper I think it was the schemes and coaching. I'm sure Saban made sure the guy was coachable before he spent a third rd pick. Saban is a better coach then Zook. Sabans know for getting players to believe in the system. Where's Zook again???

And now he's a starter... BOO-Yah Grandma...Booyah!!!

I think its funny that most of the negative traits that were told about him before the draft haven't been seen at all. In fact he has exceeded even the best expectaions so far.

It really shows you how Mel Kiper and all them are not always on the ball. (SEE jason taylor, Zach thomas, etc...)

ok guys... with greenwood gone, seau and zach getting old, and our bunch of young small to moderate lb's.. i think we need to start considering a big young linebacker like channing crowder. This guy is a beast! currently he 6'2" 241 lb's. with a year or two in the nfl conditioning program he could get up to 250-260 lb range. good size for a 4-3 ...even better for a 3-4. downside is his "off-field issues". I realize that we are all tired of these players...but i'll let u guys pick it up from here. Good aquisition or not? Is he worth the draft spot? Is he what we need? Is he a head case? ...........Anyone?

He went to North Springs high school, which our school played every year. I never played against him but i know plenty of kids that did, and most everyone who knows him or anything about him that i've heard say he's a thug, that he gets in a lot of bar fights and stuff. maybe it's true, maybe not... but that's just his reputatoin from around here, at least from the kids i've heard from. Then again, plenty of guys in the NFL are "thugs" too, which isn't necessarily a bad thing... I don't wanna judge 'em. Obviously Crowder can play football, and Jason Glenn's comments say a lot to me; he complemented him on pretty much every aspect of the game.
