Ive said this before and have not had any problems yet. I am here to talk football not trash. Please if your not here to do that find another fan to mess with.

To thread topic: What do you guys think your team needs to, and is capable of doing to beat the Chargers.

LT: He was injured week 1 and has not been the same. He is recovering and might begin looking like LT this week or against you. Stacking 9 in the box with the way Rivers has been playing would be suicide IMHO. (barring a few dumb plays against the bretts)

Rivers: he has looked good this year. I would not label him elite yet, nor do I think he is the next coming of Dan Fouts (wish i could have seen him play), but he has had a great year thus far. He has been smart with the preasure stepping into the pocket and finding a receiver.

Defence: this is an area the Chargers need to work on. Looked good against the bretts, but other then that has not been good. (will update after the raider game but there offence has been suspect so it cant prove anything.) That wildcat could throw things off, Im sure they will prepare but.

What do you think is the keys for your team to win, and the chargers if you feel you know enough to comment.

our key is our offense penningtoning your defense (spelled correctly). if our defense decides not to show up, then i don't see us winning this attempt. let's face it, you have one of the best teams in the AFC, we just need to continue playing like we have nothing to lose.

Contain LT. If we can do that, easier said than done, i think we can slow down your offense a bit. Honestly, im not scared from your passing game. Will allen can shut down Chris chambers, and antonio Gates can only do so much. Also, i think we can put pressure on rivers which will bother him a little bit.

Offensively, we have to run run run. Running succesfully will set up the playaction.

But i think in the end, the chargers win. LT is to good, and rivers should pick apart our secondary.

Score: San diego: 35 Dolphind: 21

I havn't paid a ton of attention to the chargers but I do think not having Merriman has had a big effect on their ability to get to the QB. The Denver game I saw most of it and it seemed like Cutler usually had a ton of time to find a reciever. Im hoping our defense can show up the way they did against the Pats. If our defense plays has another showing like that I think the game will come down to not making mistakes. Obviously we've got to get the running game going. Against the Pats it seemed like we used the pass to open the run. Pennington isn't going to kill you on a deep pass but if you give him time he will find someone. I think it's gonna come down to 2 big things for us to have a shot to pull out the win...

1) Get the running game going.
2) Don't give up the big play.

If we can do those 2 things we can play with anyone. Im not sure it will be enough to win because the Bolts have a lot of offense. But I think if we avoid the big plays we will at least be in it. Im hoping the defense we saw against the Pats is the defense we see the rest of the year.

The big thing is not to let the Bolts get a big lead and force us to abandon the running game.

I agree with the others that we must be able to run the ball which will set up our short to mid range passing game (we have NO deep passing game). If we can do that and not turn the ball over that would be a perfect offensive day. On Defense we must contain the run and protect against the big pass play. We been killed by the big play as our secondary is suspect at best. Lastly and maybe most importantly, we need to generate turnovers to have a chance. Going plus 2 or 3 in the turnover battle would give us a fighting chance. Realistically SD is far more talented across the board so we have to have a lot go right for us to compete at this point in the rebuilding effort. I'd be pretty happy if we are in the game going into the 4th quarter and have a punchers chance at the end.

Basically, you guys shouldnt be scared lol. Youre team has to much talent, and should win this game easily.

Still, GO DOLPHINS!

It all depends on our offense. I would be happy with our defense holding the Bolts to 24 points. Clearly, that means our offense has to put up points. If Pennington can turn in another good performance (85% completion rate vs. the Pats), then we will score over 20 points. That will make it a game. Can we win? Yes. Will it be close if the team plays to its potential? Yes. Will we win? I really do not know.

IMO secondary is the key. Keep everything in front. NO BIG PLAYS. Our front seven have played well against the run, no reason not to continue doing so.

Throw on first down to open the running game up. Balanced play calling. OL has to have another solid performance.

Prediction: Chargers 23 Dolphins 21

In a hard fought battle

Discipline...and limit RAC...

We have to limit our mistakes and stick to our assignments. Mental mistakes have been a key issue in our losses...things like letting teams get a TD on the first play due to communication issues etc...

The players have shown that physically they can match up; except at the corners. We need to limit the RAC yardage when they do catch the ball.

Bolts, also wanted to tell you that I saw you interacting on www.jetsinsider.com and you seem to want to discuss football rather then display moronic tendencies and limited vocabulary (I don't know how you survived a week at the Jets site). I hope that you check in periodically during the season. Always nice to discuss football with fans of other teams. Keeps everything in perspective.

im thinking it might come down to whether or not the game will stay close...if it stays close i think we may have a chance of winning, because the bolts running d is sub par and the defense is ranked 29th overall for pts. against...on the flip side i think the phins still blow against the pass, and will rivers will eat up our secondary...I think we will do a good job in shutting down lt as well, but thats just a hunch....

IMO final score Bolts: 34 Phins 24

Im not sure who likes rankings, but i look at them for fantasy purposes so heres the links

People are over valuing LT, he has a turf toe and he is not the type to play great when injured like some superstars do. He doesnt. Right now we should be worried about Sproles who is better today than LT is. Obviously if LT was healthy this would not be true. Turf toe is a debilitating injury. It will take the whole year for his toe to heal if you play on it.
