Charles Clay to start at FB????

For what it's worth, I just went back and looked at some of the first half of the Tampa Bay game and didn't see Bush and Thomas on the field at the same time at all... in shotgun 3 WR or any other formation. Perhaps they're saving it for the Patriots game but the far more likely possibility is that it's not a formation they plan on using. Oh, well.

This is the reason we cut Polite. Clay will force defenses to adjust because of his receiving abilities. I think we found our new "Rob Konrad"..
People the sky is not falling, Polite wasn't even a factor in the preseason..

Does he even have receiving abilities. Not sure I saw him catch a pass all preseason

He didn't, but he was an adept pass catcher at Tulsa. He had 2,544 yards receiving and 28 touchdown catches in his career.

More like 2 years. He was terrible as a blocker his first year as well.

thats not true... Lou was an excellent dolphin... borderline probowl dont make him out to be some scrub.. i understand why he was let go but im sure some one will scoop him up quick

I was dissapointed to see polite go, considering he was a probowl player and ran hard to get us the last yard necessary for a first down. But i understand themove. In Dabolls offense, we're not going to be put in that position of 3rd and 1 often. Rather, he prefers a fullback that can catch, ala peyton hillis, in this wide open offense.

Why is Peyton Hillis a Fullback?

clays got solid hands...no doubt about that...but he's just too raw as a route runner to think he's gonna come in here and be a poor mans chris cooley even...in the flat and underneath is where i think his pass catching ability will be put to use...i don't think this kids got a clue how to run a seam route etc...likely gonna be very elementary in what we ask him to do as a receiver early on at least

i see a check down option for henne primarily early
