Its reported that Hickey has been known to reach out and take chances. He was involved with bringing revis to tb. Charles penut tillman is reportedly testing the fa market. What are the chaces Hickey reaches out to him?? Would you be good with that? Wouldn't that be the **** to have grimes and tillman back there? Holy crap.

On paper it looks great.

But both are nearing end of their careers and looking for a big final pay day. Grimes will likely command a 2-3 year deal around $8-9 mill and I will not be surprised if Tillman uses Grimes deal as the benchmark for his. You would have two CB's in their early 30's on $8 mill deals.

Tillman is gonna wind up in Tampa with Lovie.

doubt it...tampa has 2 starting corners already...unless they put the miss st kid they just drafted on the bench...doubt tillman would accept a nickle job

Is the guy French? "Penut" sure does sound French. Or is there a slim possibility you meant "Peanut"?

Hey may be getting old but he's a hard hitting ball hawk who's better than anyone on the other side of grimes. Grimes could help recruit. If we could get him on a two, three year team friendly contract I would. Instant upgrade to the secondary. Would help tremendously the rooks that didn't play this year. And would push a void needed until next year or the year after so we can concentrate on the o line and and lbs and rbs and te's and all that.

Obviously if the money is right I'd take him in a second. Great player, but dude can't stay health and will be asking for a big pay day.

Come to think of it, we already have Dimitri Patterson on the roster to fill that void.

We already have corners that can't stay healthy. Although he is good, he is on the back end of his career and we have young corners on the roster that need the reps/opportunity.
Paying for another corner is a luxury that we can't afford when we have to make decisions on the front 7 as well as the offensive side of the ball.

dont you mean MARK DOMINIC?

he was the GM and shot caller in tampa, not hickey. hickey was his advisor and talent man. but dominic is the one who actually made the pics and decided what free agents to go after.

facts folks. lets get some acts rolling.

Point taken man, but I'm. Pretty sure I read that both of them made moves together... side by side, mono e mono, so I'm sure he had something to do with it. Especially since he was in charge of personel

I live in Chicago and listen to some WSCR 'the Score' everyday and the consensus on Peanut is that he's really used up. He has experience but the 'coach on the field' thing doesn't help if a guy just can't run to the spot on time anymore. They were talking about that in Urlacher's last year too and his physical shortcomings were, all too often, overshadowing the value of his experience.

Not only that, but Tillman really doesn't want to move to safety and thinks that the decline in the 'spring in his step' would be an even bigger problem at safety than corner.

The big problem is that he wouldn't come as cheap as you'd want him to. He's not gonna give you a discount cuz his skills are diminished.
