Charley Casserly and Gil Brandt: Ireland in the upper echelon of GMs

How are those hits? Thomas may have injury issues, so it's hard to judge him either way at this point. Certainly not a "hit" at this point. Gates had 2 catches. 2. How is that a "hit?" We replaced Crowder with Burnett. The result? Still can't stop TEs. Pouncey is a good lineman, but the pick would have been better spent on a playmaker had he not created a need at Center in the first place.

Bush was a great move and Clay has some potential for where we got him. Outside of Bush, not all that impressive, IMO.

I've seen you say this a few times. How many games in DT's collegiate career did he miss due to injury? All the while carrying a D1 program on his back?

Last year he was hampered by a hamstring. Something more to do with conditioning than anything else. With a full offseason on his plate, I see good things from DT. The kid can play.

Wait, so you weren't one of the ones who would absolutely flip a tit if Ireland did draft an OL in the first round?

I would have been in a fury if we had drafted yet another lineman in the first round this past draft. Heck, i was annoyed that we passed on a wideout for a offensive lineman in the second round.

That was the point, good gm's can fix the teams offensive line without burning over an entire draft on lineman. Ireland earned another offseason by going outside his comfort zone and putting together a nice draft. Extending Wake almost cancels out the flop with Marshall. If he can start building upon this last draft, then ill be more than happy to eat crow. If he starts drafting right and left guards(because despite belief we still have question marks there) in the first few rounds next year then he needs to be fired.

K-State fan I'm guessing. I don't care about his injury history in college. I care about his injury history in the NFL, which includes a persistent hamstring injury (that carried over from before his pro-day) and a knee injury. Good start for a guy that runs upright, which is a sure way to continue getting injured in the NFL. I'm not saying he's going to be bad, but I'm also not saying he's good. The jury is still out on him.

Whaaaaat???? Based on wah-wah-wah-whaaaat??

Meh ... think I'll wait & see if Ireland can get us above the .500 Mendoza Line for a good while, before I get too horny.

Not so horny about one "Alleged Good Draft" ... but will be if it pans out!!

Last year's draft didn't put lead in my pencil ... and the .500 Mendoza Line was a blurry mirage!!
