I dont know how many of you remember super bowl XVII. There was a WR on the redskins named charlie brown. he pretty much sealed the deal on us in that super bowl . we were down 20-17 when he scored with about 2 minutes to go to put the redskins up 27-17, the final score.

fast forward to 2012. just saw a report on rotoworld. here it is.
Appearing on NFL32 Thursday, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported the Broncos, Titans, and Cardinals remain alive for free agent Peyton Manning.
"You notice we did not mention the Miami Dolphins," added Mort. This has been our suspicion since early in the week. Having fallen for Lucy's pulled-ball trick once again, the Charlie Brown-level Dolphins are turning their attention to Matt Flynn. While NFL insiders continue to place the Broncos and Titans atop the list, it's worth noting the Cardinals have maintained a silent confidence since last weekend.

looks like charlie brown has eliminated us from another super bowl. bye bye manning.

No Manning. No RG3. Maybe not even Flynn. Anyone here still think Washington overpaid for RG3? I sure don't. Now we know why Cleveland was poised to even surpass the Skins offer if they had been given another shot.

Us, Washington, and Cleveland were DESPERATE for a franchise QB. Now the Phins and the Browns are absolutely reeling having not landed either guy.

In the words of another ESPN blowhard, "That is soooooo disrespectfullllllll!!!!"

Mort didn't say that, guys. That's the rotoworld writer editorializing. While I have a lot of respect for rotoworld from a fantasy perspective, keep in mind 2 of the 3 guys that run it are Pats fans. Yeah, it's a cheap shot and disrespectful , but that doesn't make it any less true. I'm actually not crushed we didn't get manning, but what is not sitting well with me is how this front office is perceived -- this front office has taken 3 or 4 huge swings and basically got in return the business version of "the hand." And don't tell me about this is all media nonsense because even if that's true, perception after a while becomes reality and it starts to become the narrative. Just ask Ricky's reputation how that s--t works

We deserved every bit of critisim we get. We have not been able to put a solid and consitent contender since Dan The Man. We are becoming the laughing stock of the NFL and we deserve it. I am still proud to be a dolphan but we have put ourselves in this position. Its time to put up or shut up.
