In light of the qb position, I am curious after watching Frye and Orlovsky play today did Saban under estimate the talent at qb for the dolphins at the time of the draft and pass on some quality qbs. It seems to me we ignored our most glaring weakness which happens to be the most important position on the field. I watched Frye and Orlovsky play today and both to me looked very impressive. yes Orlovsky threw that last minute int but one he had only 48 seconds to move 80 yards so he had to through it up for grabs. Other than that both of those qbs played great and are going to haunt us for years to come imo. I know Saban is a good coach but gus and aj really look terrible most of the time they play. They have good streaks but at no time has either qb played where it was obvious they were nfl calibre 16 games a year consistent qb. Curious if fellow finfans think Saban dropped the ball by not drafting a mid round qb.

I watched Orlovsky last week! Im tellin ya, the kid will shine one day.

I agree that kid can throw the ball.

ya they are rally gonna let frye go..come on!

Lefors!!!!!!

damnit, I was under the illusion that Linehan would have the latitude to pick a sleeper QB in the draft

why does this org spend decades ignoring the QB situation?

are we planning to:

- go the FA route - need cap space
- draft a QB in '06 - a year too late
- trade for a QB - not bloody likely

apparently Saban would much rather have Alabi......has he even played?

He made a tackle tonight on a fumble (check it).

Yeah , I was kinda hoping for Orton . We should have drafted a rookie QB this year.

I still think Charlie frye is the best QB OF THE LAST DRAFT

Amen...I hoped that we would get this kid but no dice. I suppose that if Nick really wants Leinart, this is a great way to get him. Below average QB play and 8 turnovers! What a waste of a great defensive effort.:fire:

I was screaming for us to get with our number two which in retrospect was overspending. Man we couldve had him learning while we made the transition.

Let it go already with those two... jesus... been hearing about em on these boards for months.

We didn't draft them, we have 4 crap qbs, that's life, now we have to make the most of it.

True, but it's a symptom of the bad drafting that we've been seeing for five years. We just want to make sure it's nipped in the bud before drafting strategy becomes an issue, again.

And I remember watching the draft and getting ready to rip Saban a new one for not taking a QB anywhere. Turns out my premonitions were right on that.

Eeeeasy there, let's try to remember it's only Week 3.

Of the preseason.

Nothing can be concluded yet. Nothing.
