WEIS WILL BE BACK IN 2006

Journey with us as we venture onto a termite-infested limb, courtesy of our sister site, Collegefootballtalk.com.

As the idiot who is now writing the rumor mill for our NCAA joint reports, Notre Dame's Charlie Weis will be a head coach in the NFL next year, if one or more owners come calling.

Folks in the know firmly believe that, despite necessary denials of any intention by Weis to leave the Irish after only one year, the Pats former offensive coordinator will not pass on a chance to become a head coach in the National Football League.

Hmmm...

Interesting. I wonder if offered enough he might take the Minnesota job? Or depending on the rest of the year in Denver, Ive heard Shanahan is on the hot seat.

Wow... Weis's offense with a QB like Culpepper...

You don't do that to your alma mater. Likewise, Tyrone Willingham would never have been let go after only 3 years if he was an Irish alum. This writer needs to learn a little bit about collegiate realities.

His buyout is a little over a million I believe. If Charlie Weis wants to coach in the league he will, but I think he stays at ND, I believe he has a pretty good recruiting class coming so I think he stays. Weis should have got an NFL job, and if I go a step further, if Donahoe is not the Bills GM, he should have gotten that job. I don't think he goes to the NFL for a couple years, but he will be an NFL coach within 5 seasons.

Weis should have been a HC long before Crennel ever got a shot IMO. I still think he stays with ND for at least 2 more seasons though.

Weis would have had oppertunities last year, but he commited to ND before the end of the season--when por teams could have called. I think he'll be there for a looooong time.

It's definitely possible for Weis to end up back in the NFL if his contract is bought out but I really do think that he'll stick with ND.

I highly doubt that he will leave ND and go to an NFL team, atleast this year. There is no doubt that Weis is gonna be a HC in the NFL, but he needs to stay atleast one more year to get his feet alittle more wet as a HC.

Weis ended that rumor. 10 year extension.

Well if he comes back next year, which I doubt, it will most likely be to minny.
