Edmonds does suck, but we've gone through this every year since 2020 with one or more running backs, and at some point you've got to ask yourself do all the running backs legitimately suck, or is the common thread that this team just handles running backs really poorly and doesn't set them up to succeed?
In that same timespan we've had a defense that seems for the bulk of the first half of the season can't get off the field so the offense can run some honest drives, and we've got mentally weak coaches who abandon the running game after two unsuccessful carries, but neither incompetions, interceptions, or QB's injured 4 weeks in a row will cause them to adjust their thinking one iota on the passing game - and that's dating back to Joe Philbin.
Neither Mostert nor Edmonds is being fed that much at all, and the holes being presented aren't always substantial. Mostert can find the narrow holes because he's got like 5 years in this system. Edmonds has 38 carries scattered across 7 games after he was signed to be the guy. Personally, I'd like to see both guys get more carries, and I'd like to see neither one get carries on 4th and 3 in easy FG range.
