it was a good move cutting Gordan!!! Gordan was terrible when he was here. He stuttered in the backfield and made the offensive line look even worse. Gordan has potential but right now Chatman is a better player. I really dont think that we could have gotten anything for Gordan. It was mostly speculation and if miami could have gotten something they would have taken it.

plus when he would take over for LT he did an awesome job last yr i didnt get to watch the game but i know he had over 100 yds easy but then again they do have an O line

True with his YPC, but Duckett's been featured more and they seem like similar runners so that's why I made that comparison.

I wouldn't go that far. I believe Gordon had around a 3.8 YPC when he was with the Rams, and Chatman had 6.0 YPC. Gordon also dances a lot more while Chatman just seems like the battering ram we didn't have (Unless Ricky comes back at 225)

What did we have to lose by signing Chatman? This guy has proven he can play in a part-time role, which is all he should have here. It's not like we traded for him and gave up something. Gordon may do well in a better offense, and I actually had high hopes for him here because I watch the Rams occasionally, but he obviously was not working.

I don't know that either are ever going to be stars, but it was obvious Gordon would not contribute on our football team. As a runner, he was behind rickey, brown, morris AND minor (who is no star himself.) Gordon also lacked the versatility to play another position ie. FB or special teams like our other backups. Chatman can return kicks and he's a huge guy who can run hard, possibly for short yardage situations. He's not being asked to be an every down back so I think he offers us more for that roster spot than Gordon. My only complaint is I thought we could get a late draft pick for Gordon.
