“Cheat motion” is now officially cheating

That play is part of the reason Jason Kelce retired. He wanted nothing to do with it ever again.

The league did slightly change the rule so that RB's can't line up right next to the QB and be in position to push right away. There isn't much else they can do from a rule stand point as that play is an homage to the early days of football.

We don’t use it can we entice him to be our Center?

That's incorrect. They could never run forward before the snap. This rule says they must be set at the snap.
That's for shifts.. not motions

“Any eligible backfield player who changes his stance does not have to come to a complete stop prior to the snap, as long as his actions are not abrupt (false start) or forward (illegal motion).”

This doesn't really seem like a rule change as much as an emphasis. It was illegal to be moving toward the LOS before the snap last year. There were probably complaints that the receiver is starting to turn up field just before the snap some of the time. Probably valid. But Tyreek can still be running full speed parallel to the LOS when the ball is snapped after this change or emphasis or whatever.
It's going to be really hard to call correctly in real time, and this emphasis probably pushes refs to err on the side of calling it. Especially for the teams that are notorious for using it (us, SF, Rams). That's what is going to be annoying.

So Hurts and Allen's QB push is still legal but this isnt. Makes complete sense. Just keep watering down your product NFL, I'm sure it will work wonders for you.
Exactly what I was thinking!

Not a chance, him and Travis are going to make too much on that podcast deal for him to ever lace them up again. Plus he's going to be working for the Eagles FO pretty soon.

Its funny though because I remember early on in his career a lot of Eagles fans wanted him gone. It took him a while to get to the point where he was considered "accomplished".

At first he was just an undersized center who got pushed around quite a bit.

You never though, come November he might get an itch to play and none of his three daughters are of school age yet so I could see him and his wife taking a few million bucks to come to South Florida for 2 months.

I am confident in the Brewer signing though.

The refs can’t even call false start on Tackles or delay of game right. They will probably call it a time or two on all three of the teams. Then stop calling it unless it’s so obvious they can’t overlook it.

How are the refs going to be able to judge an "illegal movement upfield" when they barely know where to spot a ball half the time after a tackle.

I saw “cheat” and immediately went “wait, how? Belichik isn’t coaching right now”. Completely serious.

Spot on.

Still football?
