I give up (this is for fantasy baseball btw)

1. David Ortiz

4. Casey Blake
5. Barry Zito

I GET

1. A-Rod
2. Jason Giambi
3. Carlos Beltran
4. Julio Lugo (also have Crosby since Lugo is on the DL)
5. Mark Buehrle

My team now (staters only) looks like (or will in 3 days)

C. Posada
1. Giambi
2. Vidro
3. A-rod
SS- Crosby/Lugo
OF- Edmonds
OF- Beltran
OF- Drew
UTIL- Blalock

SP- Schilling
SP- Beckett

P- Buehrle
P- Mulder
P- Mussina

You're giving up a TON of power in that deal. I don't know that I'd do it. I suppose you needed speed in a bad way, but I'm concerned about Carlos Beltran right now. He SHOULD be fine, but you never know. In any event, I think you could have satisfied your need for team speed at a bit lower cost. Buehrle for Zito's probably close to a wash.

Why don't you and the other owner just switch teams!

a 5-5 trade, might as just just switch teams.

Your giving up 2 top 10 players in Migs and Ortiz and only getting 1 back in return A-Rod.

Bad trade

Yeah, I needed speed.

The way I see it... Giambi is going to hit 35, Arod 40+, and Beltran is iffy..

Ortiz is going to hit 40+, Tejada is going to hit 30+, and Hafner will hit 30+.

If Beltran comes around, and hits 25 then I'd be fine in terms of power for power. Also, considering I'm getting 4 players (offense) and I'm only giving really 3 (casey Blake may go back to 2004 #s, but even so he's never been a great power hitter previously). Also, when Crosby gets healthy he could hit 30 himself.

Also, Zito (although I love the guy) for Buehrle is (IMO) a much better deal for me. Zito can be hot and cold from one start to the next. I know he came on last year, but it's always a mystery with him.

However, I'm worried Zito will be traded to NYY or NYM (as thats where he wants to go) and have a monster offense behind him and really take off.

I think the deal is pretty fair from both sides....A-Rod always puts up the big numbers so I give you the edge.

Hafner's got 40 HR power; I think you're selling him a bit short, and Tejada's value is greatly enhanced by the fact that he's one of the few shortstops that can actually hit.

More to the point, I think you can solve your problem a lot cheaper. Focus on getting a speedy outfielder in a 1 for 1 deal; you can live with a guy without much power because you have so much as is.

Anyway, it's your team. But I wouldn't make the deal if I were you.
