As I was browsing a dolphins digest that a freind gave me it was in wanny's first year and I hate to say but we were better off before the cam disaster I wasnt crazy about Wanny but he did one thing right and that was in 2001 we had 6 wrs and 4 te's and 4 rb's Granted they were not fire eaters but the wr was a hell of a lot better then it is today.
I cant remember who all we had but here is part of that list.

wr's
Leslie Shepherd
Oronde Gadsden
Lamar Thomas I loved his quotes they are hilarious.
Nate Jacquet
Tony Martin
OJ Mcduffie
Kevin Mckenzie

at te we had
Hunter Goodwin
ED Perry
Hayward Clay
Terrence Huston
Carlos Nuno

WE also had Deon Dyer
Rob konrad
brian Edwards
jj. johnson
Lamar Smith
Curtis Alexander
Frank Leatherwood
Teddy Salters
Thurman Thomas Peter Sylvester

I Know most of these guys were not impressive. My point is we had depth back then and i dont understand why Sparano isnt bringing in new players to evaluate .
I will say this Ilike ED Perry but he wasnt as good as the guys we have now.
what I find disheartning is we are not rebuilding the way other teams are ,yet I am not trying to bash but point out that we let good guys go yet we replaced our two best wr with guys that wouldnt even cut it at Baylor let alone the greatest franchize .
I wouldnt want to trade our current rb corp for any of those guys but I thought Deon Dyer was as good of fullback as they come .

I am not pimping any of Wanny's kids but not of them were bust .

the point i wanted to make was rebuilding doesnt have to be as painfull as our front office is making out to be.

where would we be if we had chambers, welker and surtain ?
I will tell you guys we would be in second place in the afc east that is where we would be.

I am just wanting to discuss dolphins foot ball and where we really went wrong and the current regeme is not without fault here because other teams went out and landed good wrs and cb but we didnt improve because we have so many holes but still this mess was avoidable .

I think we need too be alittle more patient. I think everyone agreed we would lose alot of games this season. Maybe be happy with the huge steps forward from where we were and make sure of who we have too keep and who should go. I hate too lose too but even the Dolphin haters have too respect how we lost this game. They made some great plays when they needed too. We are still in it and controll our own furture. Try too fix what is wrong and learn from the loss.

First off. The current regime wasn't responsible for Chambers, Welker and Surtain not being in Miami.

Secondly. We have to be patient. The skill players will happen.

Third. I really don't see it as a mess. We are a young football team that is already worlds better than it was a year ago.

Dude, I became a Fin Fan a couple of years ago, so I have no clue who most of those guys are: BUT:

You know these guys NOW! In 2001, most people probably didnt know most of them, if we were rebuilding like your saying they were as unknown as they are now.

The Bess', the Merlings, the Langfords, the Thomas' in a couple of years, people are going to be saying: How come we didnt go undefeated in 2008 with those guys?
