Ok, so here's what the betting website says:

WILL RICKY WILLIAMS BE SUSPENDED FOR DRUGS?

YES +350


NO -500

What exactly does this mean? If I put $100 on NO, how much do I win? On there, it doesn't say anything about 'during the season' though.
 
I believe it means if you put $500 saying "NO" then you will get your $500 back and then win $100 additionally. If you bet $100 saying "YES" and he does get suspended, you will get your $100 back, plus an additional $350.

Put into straight $100 terms, a $100 bet on "no" will pay you $20 if he doesn't get suspended, and a $100 bet on "yes" will pay you $350 if he does get suspended.

Pretty long odds. Vegas is pretty convinced he'll stay clean.
 
That doesn't seem legal to me to even take bets on. What if Ricky himself place a bet for a couple million saying he would relapse and then smoked and took the money? Or, some other idiot place a large bet and somehow put some sort of substance in Ricky's food or something. Absolutely ridiculous!

eh, nevermind, not worth it. I am almost 100% convinced that he'll stay clean. Especially if it's just for the season. If my memory is correct, I don't believe he's had trouble during the season. It's always been during the offseason when he has problems.

Let's hope the offseason is different. Last offseason he was in rehab so that helped. I really do believe this offseason will be a test for him.
 
I think Ricky will get more caries this week...Houston is expecting Ronnie and the wildcat....why not use our other weapon? I can see Ricky getting 15 to 18 touches this week.

then ricky would be set and legal for him to do... He may even have a lawsuit now that I think about it.

What lawsuit would he have? Its not defamation, because they aren't saying he's DONE somthing. The odds they set skew towards him being clean...How again does this warrent a lawsuit? Degenerates gamble on everything.

i dont know... Im sure he could have a lawsuit just on the boundaries of odds makers trying to mae money off him through gambling or something without his consent... I dont know... Lawyers sue for everything, Im sure if he wanted to, he could find a lawyer that would sue for him.

Why do you think they put out a line on NFL/NHL/MLB games. How is that not "Makeing money off" someone?

This is setting odds on an event happening or not happening to somone. It's distasteful but, not unbelieveable or unprecidented.
