Cheeks takes reins from O'Brien

Maurice Cheeks is running the show again for the Philadelphia 76ers.

In a surprising move nearly three weeks following the end of their season, the Sixers fired Jim O'Brien on Monday after one season as coach and replaced him with Cheeks, one of the most popular players in franchise history.

"Mo is family. Mo bleeds 76ers. He bleeds Philadelphia," team president Billy King said.

As a Sixers fan since the 1970's I think this is a great move. Most of the Sixers players did not care for O'Brien. Mo Cheeks is a Philly legend and a very good coach. Great move 76ers.

I'm with you Roman. Every player had gripes with O'Brien and it's like the saying goes "Everybody can't be wrong!"
