Chiefs probably won't sign T.O., Edwards says

After talking with guard Will Shields and running back Priest Holmes, new Chiefs coach Herman Edwards believes there is a good chance they’ll be back next season.

He was less confident that troubled wide receiver Terrell Owens might soon join the Chiefs. Edwards and team president Carl Peterson indicated last month they would be interested in exploring the possibility of signing Owens, who could give them a Pro Bowl-caliber wide receiver to go with their Pro Bowl running back, tight end, quarterback, tackle and two guards.
“We were approached by his agent at the Senior Bowl,†Edwards said Friday. “We visited  a very short visit. We haven’t heard from his agent at this point in time. I haven’t heard from Terrell.â€Â

I dont think anyone trusts a word that comes out of his mouth after the whole "What do you mean? I have every intention of coaching right here with the jets next year. I love my job blah blah blah...... Oh yeah did I mention that I hate my job and never had any intintion of returning here?"

I watched the press meeting where he said that. Herm did not say that Owens wouldn't be signed, just that he was waiting for TO's agent to approach them again. He did make it sound as if he wasn't actively seeking Owens, but who knows whats going on.
