Not that anything came of it, or will come of it, but it is just so fascinating how bizarre the mind of Carl Peterson is.

The Kansas City Chiefs have such an inflated opinion of Trent Green's value that they even raised Chris Chambers' name in trade talks. The Dolphins, obviously, wouldn't do that.

Peterson needs to realize that Trent Green, no matter how good he is or has been, is 37 and only has a year or two left. Asking for a #2 pick or a young player in the prime of his career like Chambers is just nuts.

But Unce Rico is right...all the GMs around the league remember us trading second round pics for A.J. Feeley and a seriously injured Daunte Culpepper.

Patrick Surtain hasn't exactly lit the world on fire in KC. Plus, we got Matt Roth in exchange, so he hardly "robbed" us.

I CONCUR AND I would be ok if we got a top 5 or 7 pick in next year's draft if it means we would have a better season in 09 . wait a minute why dont we just keep culpepper and start lemon and get our offense completely rebuilt with one more good draft we could then make a run for the whole darn thing in 09 . plus we are likely to be a 8-8 team at best so lets rebuild the team right and then we wont pass this way again for along time.

Carl Peterson is the biggest idiot in the world. A few years ago he wanted to increase the number of teams in the playoffs b/c his team wasn't getting in...here is a thought GET BETTER!! :boohoo:

Right...you hold a responsibility to the fans to not tank the season. Why should fans bother going to the game if they don't expect to win games.

I actually liked his idea.

The idea, for those who don't know, is add a third wild card team and have them play the second seed team, giving only the first seed a bye. Too many good teams get out of the playoffs due to the limits (2003 Dolphins, 2005 Chiefs, 2006 Broncos.) Plus, teams would try harder for that first seed.

Peterson keeps talking about Green being so good and all that. That would matter if he were 28 or so. But you are only getting a one or two year quarterback, so its ridiculous. Lets just wait until he is released. Chambers is worth so much more than Green.

I thought he wanted more teams in. But wait, thats why you can't afford to lose to the Browns and Raiders of the NFL.

I'am not going to defend CP, but in 1996, Jimmy Johnson got a 3rd from him for our kicker Pete Stoyo. We're not the only ones that have made dumb trades. A 3rd for our kicker.......???

As one poster mentioned earlier, Surtain hasn't really lived up to anything special in KC. Pat's not worth the money he wanted from us and he's showning that in KC.
