I think the reason why Childress wanted Duante gone was because he was probably really hyper sensitive to dis-gruntled players because of his TO experience. I think he may have prematurely wanted to nip this in the bud instead of managing his franchise quaterback. What do you guys think?

Childress reminds me of the guy in Jurassic Park III (the dorky one) who was eaten by the raptors. He also used to be in a show with Burt Reynolds called "Evening Shade".

I'm so glad we got Saban instead of Childress last year. Saban eats raptors for breakfast.

The owner wanted Daunte and publically said that he would pay the 6 million roster bonus he was due to keep him. What (from the reports I read in the local papers) turned the situation sour is that Daunte wanted assurance that he would not be traded. Unfortunately, Daunte found out that the Vikes were sending out trade feelers and didn't like it. That is when Daunte sent an e-mail to the media stating that he wanted to get traded. The situation in Minnesota only went down hill from there.

Whatever the case, Childress lost his franchise quarterback, and it`s going to hurt that team for years to come.

This has nothing to do with TO -- Childress comes from the Reid camp, and that whole cluster of coaches are like John Wayne in that they take **** from nobody. Look at Jeremiah Trotter.

You know what else? They're usually right. That isn't to say that Pepper will be a problem here, but I'm pretty damned sure he would have continued to be a problem in Minnesota.
