Fired as SF DC. No replacement yet named but had to see that coming, considering Vrabel already turned down the job... per PFT

As Mangini is TBum's butt buddy, I hope he doesn't get forced down Gase's throat.. or ends up in our FO.. inserted in to usurp the role of someone like Grier... although I wouldn't put it past TBum and Ross.

Let's keep our fingers X'ed.. please
 
Lucky most if not all of our top positions are filled.
 
How quickly things turn around, this guy was the best thing ever now no job. Whaoo!! don't wont him.
 
I wonder if Harbaugh would throw him a life line at Michigan. Harbaugh raved about Mangini's work. Plus, he would be giving cover to an employee the niners canned after one year.

But I thought it was a guarantee by some that he was gonna be our HC?

We would have reached out to him already. You people need to quit being so obsessed with this. NEVER had his name come up other than on this board. Just because Mangini was hired by Tannenbaum in the past does not mean he's hiring him again. Plus it's Gase who's putting together his staff.

Jim Harbaugh thought enough of him to hire him.

Look, I do not care one way or the other if he comes or not. If Gase wants him...and it is Gase is decision who is on his staff...why not? If he doesn't so be it.

I dont really care as long as he isnt head coach. I basically wanted none of these current guys here so it makes no difference esp with Tannebaum and Ross here
 
I'll tell you why I think it is unlikely that Mangini winds up here:

Gase is friends with Saban, connection there. Gase also seems to have Parcells connections, if indirectly.

Mangini is persona-non-grata in those circles.

Saban actually wanted to hire Mangini as DC so not sure that means alot.
 
Personally, I don't understand the animosity towards Mangini. I doubt he will ever get another head coaching job and he probably doesn't deserve to, but every time I have ever heard him talk he struck me as an intelligent football mind that was very perceptive and astute. I think he could be an asset to an organization. I don't think he would be a good fit with Miami's organization however, due to Mangini's connection with Tannenbaum and the perception that he was being forced on the new coaching staff.
