OK folks, everyone always wants to start posts blaming specific people who are on the fence as far as performance. I think it is only fair to call out ANYONE who starts to show poor play. Therefore, IMO Chris Chambers needs a gut check.

I love Chris and want him to do well, but this offense may be the first one he has had here where he could actually BLOW UP like he should have been doing. Instead, he has had 2 lackluster games so far this season. He doesn't show anything like we are use to seeing. The crisp routes, smiling, beautiful catches near the sidelines where he can catch it directly in his hands and control his body, etc.

Chris...you need to bring it harder bud.
 
I agree.

It is just frustrating watching him make some miracle catches and then the next play dropping a pass right at his chest.
 
Agreed.

Chambers needs to start dominating games.

I was going to post on this. He is not a great WR and we all need to figure this out. He is a good WR who is very hot or cold. Some days he plays like the elite but to often not good enough to be a #1 WR threat.
 
I agree. Being a premier receiver has been sitting in front of him his for the taking for a while now and he refuses to take it. He may not have a future here if he keeps this up. Don't flame me for saying that either I know he's got a very long term contract and that's great but he needs to start bailing out the offense instead of putting the impetus on the offense to start bailing him out. Think about it all this time everyone's blaming the offense and the other offensive players for Chambers not becoming one of the great receivers. Time to turn the tables around and start blaming the fact that this offense isn't consistently great on Chambers' refusing to become a premier WR.
 
Who is Chris Chambers? Honestly, maybe he is not really that good. He drops too many passes.
 
I dont' want to turn into a flaming of Chris, but lets be honest.

-he has loads of talent
-he seems like a genuine guy and good person

but..
-he needs to show more passion
-he needs to show more toughness
-he needs to be more vocal, he is a leader whether he knows it or not.

Not to get sidetracked or bring in the Ronnie Brown trolls, but I have a very bad feeling deep in my gut Ronnie is the same player but in the RB position. Loads of potential and a great humanitarian..but may always be fighting to push through that hump.
 
All I know is I is it is time for him to start doing more than drawing flags. I thought the call on Law today was bogus.

-He needs to play more like #81.
plain and simple.
 
At this point I'd like to see him as the 3rd WR with Booker, And Boston as the starters and see what they can do(especially Boston) full time. I still think Chambers is a very good WR, but needs a fire lit under his ***
 
everyone was mad at me when i said he was overrated and was called stupid because of it. Hopefully he picks up his game because im disappointed so far what he has done this season

Captains don't drop first downs on 2nd and 20. I agree, do what we've been expecting for the last 3 years CC.
 
exactly, he could learn a few things from McMichael, McMichael is obviously the leader on that field. I am starting to lose patience with Chambers, but this is only the second game. He better pick it up. Where's the fire, I wish Saban could light a fire under Chambers like he does with so many other players. All the receivers have to be more aggresive. well actually Boston, and Chambers. Booker was pretty aggresive, and Welker is doing a nice job also.
 
Yep.

He needs to stop CHOKING. I mean seriously. It seems like whenever we need him to make a catch at the point in the game where it can turn the tide ....DROP!

Sure he can catch the quick passes early...but when it comes time for a gut check...DROP!
 
there is no excuse for dropping that ball that hit him on the numbers...Not when you are the #1 receiver. Dude, you have to catch that ball!!!
