I don't understand why we need to draft a QB?? Ray Lucas will be gone after this season, and Jay fiedler is only 30 yaers old, and is getting better and better with more experience. We need OLINE and a Big DT, or another good LB, or even another stud at DE. A good veteran FA pickup at WR next season is also good. The last thing we need is another rookie WR. The last thing we need to spend a high draft pick on, or a lot of $$ is QB.

Jay's contract is really only a 2 year contract. If he were to stay beyond that we would be paid too highly against the cap.

Three years contract because last two year is when he will be getting pay 4 mils and last year 5 mils.IMO-I dont think he will be getting pay too much especially that each year he improves.If he continues to improve he will be a probowl qb and he is only 30 like chambers84 said..However I don't mind drafting a qb in the later round to bring in as our 3rd string qb.
 
I wouldn't be completely opposed to drafting a QB in, let's say, the 3rd round if someone with good value is available. I am just uncomfrotable w/ spending our first pick on a quarterback. No matter what Jay should be our starter for at least next year.
 
Drafting a QB doesnt mean we're looking for a starter, but we just need a quality backup.
 
Ya, We could trade Lucas and a pick for Kurt Kittner, backup QB for Falcons... He would be a good BACKUP Quarterback or our QB of the furture. Trade our 1st rounder for a 2nd and 3rd round pick. Use the 2nd round pick for Trence Holt (S) from NC State. Use the 3rd for a nice BIG O-lineman. (No forth traded for Kittner) Trade Jamar Fletcher w/Derick Rogers for a 1st rounder and pick up a Nice Wr. T

Yeah and we send Fiedler to Tampa Bay for warren sapp.

Kittner was a 4th round pick! He wouldn't be that hard to get!
