"Patriots coach Bill Belichick raved about rookie safety Chris Clemons' speed last month and predicted he would play more. But Clemons said he hasn't played on defense the past two games; the staff prefers heavy doses of Gibril Wilson. . . . An official who spoke to the Dolphins said finding an outside linebacker to develop will be an offseason priority. Cameron Wake still hasn't convinced the staff he's an every-down player. ``Ability isn't the issue -- it's fundamentals,'' Dolphins coach Tony Sparano said."

I really cannot understand why Clemons has gotten zilch to zero playing time the past 2-3 games. He was always making plays when in before and Gibril has not made ONE gamechanging play this year. Please put Clemons in.

I think that is stupid, he can rush the Qb like nobody else in this team;
And well if he doesn't play that much.. How will we ever know waht he is capable of.

Same with Clemons, he is a native FS.. Far better than what we have so far

Agree, and its not as if porter is a great tackler either...

Man I gotta cry foul on this... Wake is not an every down player because of 'FUNDAMENTALS'???? Something is definitely rotten in Denmark on that one Tony... Puh-lease.

And Wilson is a Yeremiah clone... You would think that a FO that stresses diversity and multipurpose players would covet the fact that Clemons gives us an entirely different dimension.

These personnel decisions leave me scratching my head and as far as the reasoning for it????? That dawg don't hunt Mr Sparano... I ain't buyin' what you sellin'.

I think coach sparano means mentally not physically when talking about fundamentals. All we have seen him do is freakishly out muscle/leverage right tackles. But we haven't seen him have any other responsibilities besides getting juked by a punter. His burst around an offensive lineman makes us fans drool because so often those are the game changing plays. But why haven't we seen more? Is it because we have porter and jason taylor? I think its a little both but this staff and BP has always made a player earn their logos so to speak. My guess is he plays alot more next year whether joey or jason are back or not.

I think the coaching staff still thinks we can go to the playoffs, and does not want to take a chance on a blown assignments losing games, from guys that don't know their jobs cold (even though some vets do it, right #55). I'm for playing those two guy's and Patrick Turner.... we need to know if they can play. IMHO the only way they "get it" is by playing, then looking at the tape and correcting their mistakes. This makes the learning curve smaller next year when we kick some @$$.

See your point and I do agree in part...

I just do not see anything that would lead me to believe that starting Wake would mean a significant drop in level of play for the 'D'... The biggest knock on Wake is that he is one dimensional which is ALSO the biggest knock on Joey...

But 'Fundamentals' I mean is Wake the worst practice player in the history of man???? So much so that anything he accomplishes in games should be overshadowed by his horrible practice habits???? Hmmm...

Something seems wrong here... Obviously Tony is running out of reasons to keep him on the bench and he can't say 'Because it would pi** off Joey'.

The fact is, you are dead on right... You must earn the right to play... But Sparano also needs to back that up when he says it... and give it to the players when they do whether they be vet or rook...

Wake has performed... the media is noticing, we fans are noticing... I am damn sure the players notice too... Imagine how Wake or even Anderson must be feeling when they hear Tony say... 'Work hard and you will get your chance..' must seem like empty words...

Sparano is plain wrong... you need a little patience with rookies. If you dont put them in the field constantly you'll never know if they're good enough

Our coaching staff has no COURAGE at all

Are we a team under construction? If the answer is YES, then we should try each and every prospect

its looking like wanny ball all over again.

Ya, screw developing players let them sink or swim!!!!

TS knows nothing about football, it's all about what the fans and media think not what he sees every day in practise and film. What does he know afterall he's an OLine coach that teaches fundamentals to death to make players the best they can be. What good is fundamentals when you can go out and run around like a chicken with it's head cut off.....look how fast that chicken runs.....wow he's gonna be a probowler!

We should trade Cameron Wake to a team that runs a 4-3 offense.

Cameron Wake is a one dimensional player. He's good at rushing the passer, but terrible in open field tackling and pass coverage.

He can't be an every down 3-4 OLB.

He's too small to be a 3-4 DE.

His best spot would be as a 4-3 DE, who rushes the passer on every play.

And yet JT gets left in the dust for a QB 32 yrd TD and no one says anything?

JT was on the weak side on that play. Fitzpatrick rolled to the strong side. The strong side backer was out of position, not Taylor.

Same argument can be made of Wake he had his side looked after and came across the field to make a play - so what's your point...? Wake wasnèt out of position either...
