I was just looking around on the combine site, specifically for vontae davis stats when I happen to see the results from the combine for the safeties as well. Chris Clemons was a monster at the combine... I know some of you will give me the whole "its all about what happens on the field speech," which i totally agree with, but I feel like we picked up a very solid safety in the later rounds after reading about him.

Clemons finished 1st among safeties in the 40 yard dash (4.41), 7th in bench press (19), 4th in vertical jump (37.5), 3rd in broad jump (10'7), 1st in 3 cone drill(4.39).

I know 7th and 4th place arent that impressive... but to be able to be near the top in every event he did at the combine?? Thats pretty impressive.

It also mentions that a negetive on clemons is his lanky frame, since most pro teams want their safeties to "bulky." I agree with this, and im sure the phins will have him bigger by the end of summer. But to Clemons credit, without the bulk, he didn't miss one game due to injury during his entire college career.

**** Also was just looking on rivals.com.... coming out of high school he was a running back prospect so it seems that he doesnt mind the extra contact and abuse that a running back receives. Hopefully this means we wont be seeing any "ronnie vs oakland safetey" happening to clemons.

He's a very good athlete and has experience in the Quarters D.

I see him being a great ST player, and I see him in Dime packages and getting more PT as the season progresses.

I heard this kid was a baller and we got extremly lucky to get him.... I hope my sources are correct.....

I was looking at the same info just last week myself. I was impressed by his measureables. Let's hope they translate to actual production. If they do, we will have gotten an absolute steal!!! I wouldn't doubt it based on our FO...

I have heard nothing but good things about this kid since we drafted him......looking forward to seeing him on the field this summer.

So, you dont think that 19 reps of 225 lbs for a guy that weighs 208 lbs is really impressive?
I work out all the time and I weigh 285, at 6'9" and I can't do that. Ofcourse I'm not a pro athlete either, was a college BBaller, but thats it. IMO, that's really impressive for a little guy. He not only is super strong and super fast, and quick, he is also a playmaking, tackling machine as a safety. He could very well be a diamond in the near future. It's funny when we drafted him, many of us wanted Hamlin, but the more I hear about him, The better prospect and higher ceiling was for Chris Clemons.

A lot of fans were panning this draft, but the more you study these draftees, the better this draft looks. I don't know if some of you noticed this, but all our draft picks have one thing in common, except Pat White...They are all hitters. All these kids can really bring the funk one way or another.

I agree with you they all seem like hitters, except that Pat White is a homerun Hitter!
The guy is flat out special, I would like to see him bulk up a little, but man, him and Ronnie and this Oline could be very exciting to watch. I can't wait for this season to see it unfold for us.

I'm not worried at all about him being lanky. Minus the ultra-huge biceps, he's the same size as Yeremiah Bell, and his durability throughout college suggests that he shouldn't have a problem. It should be noted that Bell didn't have any durability problems after one offseason in the Parcells workout plan.

I told you guys "Ed Reed 2nd coming" lol maybe a little overboard but ive seen him play first hand on the field..so ya kno i know more than others know about him...he can tackle with the best of them...he had more carrer tackles than Maulagua and Matthews combined lol
