Gase was fired because he controlled the 53 players who make the team, including Tannehill. To fire the latter you had to fire the former.

Tannenbaum paid out lavish salaries and restructured contracts to sign more free agents, all so that he could keep his job. Tannenbaum was out for himself and was correctly demoted.

Chris worked for Tannanbaum and Gase to an extent. He now has the trust of Ross. But does anyone know his likely approach to re-building this team. It is clear as day that Tannehill is gone. Maybe, we can trade Ryan to Jacksonville for picks or a player.

I am curious about prior drafts and what Chris Grier recommended. In the end, the scouting function is crucial.

If Chris was truthful at the press conference, Ross made the last-second decision to fire Gase and promote him to a true GM role with final say over the 53.

I am sure Gase wanted clarity on his job and Ross delivered.

I doubt we seek to hire John Harbaugh. In the end, John will exploit the Ravens and deservedly so as they made him a lame duck.

Gase was fired because the players were going to have a mutiny had he came back for 2019

I wonder if Grier was trying to tell them certain things were a bad idea. Perhaps Ross even heard and saw him being overruled. At least that's what I'm hoping right now.

Are there any rumors or is there any speculation about our defense and Burke?

Who knows, but frankly I'm ok with Grier given how hard it was to attract good candidates last time around.

Usually the new head coach makes the decisions as to who to keep or release. I'm sure most of the coaches have cleared their belongings from the facility and have been preparing to seek future employment opportunities elsewhere.

Hope you're right.

I'd like to know who was the big decision maker on dudes like Harris and Gesicki...

One thing about Grier being in charge and simply hoping for the best, is that he’s a lifer, and paid his dues in the film room..There’s lots of GM failures that got their opportunity a different way..

I always believe deep down if your gonna be the GM of the team you have to be a film rat in your heart and don’t want the spotlight..

I do think he fits that script.

Perhaps the same people who were responsible for Howard, Tunsil and Fitz? People make mistakes in the draft...it happens to every team.... Trying to assign all the busts to one person while simultaneously giving them no credit for the hits is such an odd way to look at things....
