(Arkansas CB) Where does everyone see him going? I have had ZERO time to do all the research I usually do for mock drafts and such, but I did catch a lot of the combine, and I already had my eye on him going in. Think we have any chance at getting him? I have no clue what round he'd even go in, but as long as it's not round one I wouldn't mind taking him. IDK if round 2 is too high for him but we DO have 2 picks there........

He's a mid first round pick.

He would be a steal in the 2nd IMO. I see him going mid-late 1st. He had a great combine, really helped himself. Revis and Hall could possibly go before him. Someone might like Ross more, but anything is possible. I'd be extremely pumped to land him at #40.

Imagine this as a steal:

Trade our 1st and the pats 2nd rounder (#60) to the Redskins for their #6 overall, Brady Quinn falls past Detroit and Cleveland, TB doesn't need him at 4, Arizona DEFINATELY doesn't need him at 5, we get him at 6, then Houston falls tot eh second and we take him at #40. It's a SUPER long stretch, but it would be most excellent :cooldude:

That would be awesome, although I hope we can find some Oline help after that.

I like it. I like that thinking. Its definitely something that could be done. If only CC and RM have that same mindframe.

McCauley or Ross are much more likely at 40 than Houston. His measurables(aside from height) are off the charts, and he locked down some premier WRs this past season one on one.

And as for trading up to 6, I'd honestly rather stay at 9 draft a DE or something(even Ginn), and then use #60 to improve the interior of the line (Sears or Alleman).

Best CB in the draft IMO. Hall is overrated and Revis doesn't have the speed to be a shutdown corner.

What?!?

Revis hasn't run a timed 40 yet, but you can see on tape that he plays fast on the field.

Why is Hall overrated? Let me guess Ginn Jr.?

Revis has a good 40 time this conversation is over frankly (shuttles offcourse too).

Hall's definitely not overrated. All people see is one bad game against Jarrett and a USC pro style offense and they cringe at the thought of getting Leon Hall. But the major knock on him coming out of that game was his speed and his ability to recover. I thinka 4.3 quashed that and that people have to stop calling him overrated because he is the best rated corner in this draft and he's going to go around mid 1st which is not overrated for a guy that is best at his position.

the Hall overrated stuff is getting old. He gave up 2 big plays all year, one to Ginn and one to DJ. The only thing he had going against him was speed (maybe height, about average height for a CB). Even as a Michigan fan, I did not expect him to run a 4.3 (thought a solid 4.45).

Boomer and I have pimped Houston for months now. With his measurables and workout numbers, he could be our pick at 9. I don't think it's too farfetched to think Hall,Revis, AND Houston will all be seriously considered.

They remind me a lot of the Rolle,Pac Man, Rodgers class. Rolle was the only one seen as a top 10 pick until the workouts started (Pac Man was a mid first and Rodgers was a 2nd round pick). They all ended up top 10 picks.

It's really hard to predict where CBs go anyways. They can either see their stock skyrocket, or they can plummet. I'm a fan of the top 3 CBs in this class, an I think each has pro bowl potential, they're not Champ Bailey (or even Ronde Barber) prospects, but all 3 fit our schemes nicely and each has played bump and run.

That's another thing, look at the playing style. Hall,Houston,Revis are all physical CBs; which the CBs in our defense need to be (hence Reggie Howard falling flat on his face). The right system can make a good player great.

McCauley and Ross are real good too, and both have a chance at the 1st round.

Houston at 185lbs had 27 bench presses of 225 lbs at the combine

this is incredible strength but at 185 is SUPERMAN territory.

Josh Beekman...24 reps
Andy Alleman...27 reps
Samson Satele...25 reps
Aaron Sears...21 reps
Joe Staley...27 reps
Joe Thomas...28 reps HOUSTON HAD 27 REPS
WHICH SHOWS HIS STRENGTH COMPARES WELL WITH SOME OF THE TOP OFFENSIVE LINEMAN IN THE DRAFT...AT ONLY 185 LBS...PLUS A 4.32.. 40

If he can become a football player he has a chance to be special with his combination of strength and speed
