Chris Johnson Arrested - Second Jets Player Arrested this Week

Jets running back Chris Johnson has been arrested in his hometown of Orlando, Florida.

PFT has confirmed a report that Johnson was arrested on Friday for open carrying of a firearm, a second degree misdemeanor.A league source tells PFT that Johnson does have a license to carry in Florida. But this arrest wasn’t just for carrying, it was for open carrying.

New York Jets linebacker Jermaine Cunningham, who spent the season on injured reserve, was arrested Dec. 29 in Summit, New Jersey, on charges that included a gun offense and spreading sexual images, according to the Union County prosecutor's office.

At 4:19 p.m. that day, Summit police responded to a domestic dispute at Cunningham's home. After an investigation, he was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, third-degree invasion of privacy, and fourth-degree unlawful weapon transport. He was processed and released without bail. A court date will be scheduled.

Police didn't provide details on the privacy charge, but New Jersey's criminal code defines a third-degree charge when a person without consent discloses sexual images of another person via a photograph, film, videotape, recording or any other reproduction.

Cunningham lived with a woman at the home until recently, according to the prosecutor's office. He also was charged with damaging or destroying clothing that belonged to the woman, which accounts for the criminal mischief charge.

In addition, police confiscated a loaded .380-caliber handgun that was found in the glove compartment of Cunningham's Audi. He consented to the search of the car, according to police.

not sure about Cuningham's charge but he Johnson charge was of little to no consquence.
Basically he is supposed to have the weapon in glove box locked or locked in something.
He had it under his seat. Before I got my license, I would usually have it on seat with glove box open with key in it.
Then if stopped throw it in glove box real quick.

Jets RB Chris Johnson actually had 2 handguns in car at time of arrest Fri night, not one, per arrest report. Initially, lied to police.

Doesnt make him a bad guy , he just was not in compliance with the law. If he had it in his glovebox instead of under seat, he would have been ok.
I almost got in trouble with a gun under my seat once with a manager of mine. We had a policy of no guns on property but I rarely travel with out my firearm.
It was under seat , he noticed barrel and asked me if that was a gun under my seat. I said very sternly, you are quite mistaken, its just the container.
i didnt realize how much the barrel was exposed and was like damn. I couldnt believe he didnt make an issue but maybe he was just being nice or maybe he was scared.

You will have problem players again its a fact of life.
The one arrest is concerning but the Johnson arrest is not a big deal at all, stuff happens
