Well he's got all the scouts and gm's convinced. Matt Ryan and Dorsey aren't worth the 1st overall and J. Long isn't rated as high as C long and why use the 1st pick on a OT when the draft is rich and deep at OT this year. Mcffaden maybe but we don'th need a rb.

So C long it is if we don't trade down. Book it.
 
How do you measure a player's heart and on field ability? Because if those were measured Long would probably be at least 3 or 4 times higher then Roth IMO.
 
Nobody can say Matt Roth doesn't have heart that's not his problem!

We'll i glad he does otherwise he wouldn't get around the feild very much.
This is a make or break year for Roth.
 
I would LOVE to see an arm length comparison

Long isn't a T-Rex is he?
 
Well it looks like Long is 1/2 step quicker, 1/2 step faster, and more explosive as well not to mention smarter.
Often that is the difference between poor-good or good-great.

I would like to see Roth's stats compared to current established players as well. I dont "think" there would be a huge difference between him and some other players we would consider productive.

Matt was drafted on potential, C.Long will be drafted because he is everything you want in a football player. V.Ghoston is being looked at because of potential and I'd compare him to Roth before Long with obvious greater upside than Roth.
There's no questioning what your getting from C.Long but there's alot of hoping for Gholston to become what he looks like. If Gholston does live up to the potential he has he'll be a great pick, IF.
One aspect of C.Long's game that doesn't get enough attention is his hand speed, this gives him a great advantage on shedding blocks and creating an off-balance attack by the O-lineman. Houston's owner even pointed it out when asked who he would have drafted between M.Williams and C.Long, his answer was it would have made for a very difficult decision.

Chris Long is a fiery white guy who plays DE.

That's about it when it comes to comparing the two guys. Matt Roth is a bust and Chris Long is an elite talent.

Why not compare Chris Long to Gaines Adams or Mario Williams? That's a better comparison.

Mario Williams is a 6'7" 291 DE. Gaines Adams is 6'4" 260 DE. Chris Long is 6'3" 273. He's bigger than Adams and smaller than Mario. Plus if you're talking about the Dolphins he would play OLB here. Those comparisons make no sense. Adalius Thomas would be a better comparison from his baltimore days

As for Roth, Long is a better version of Matt. That's why he's going round 1. Its actually a pretty good comparison

i wouuld compare long to shawn merriman. both are the exact same size coming out of college. both were DE and will play OLB in a 3-4. both have the motor and ability to get to the QB or put pressure on him. Both are great leaders for the Defense.

Gholston to me is a better Merriman comparison. Long doesnt have the chase speed of Merriman IMO. It's alright but I think Merriman is quicker.

I think the better Chris Long comparison is Mike Vrabel - both very cerebral players even if Vrabel played 4-3 DE at OSU and Long a 3-4 DE at UVA. Merriman is a lot more explosive and faster than Chris Long; though I'm willing to bet that Long's instincts rival Merriman's right now - but I do agree with whomever said that Gholston is a better Merriman comparison based on their physical attributes and speed/strength combos.
