With Shelby out, we need McCain to step up big time. Where has he been? I heard he was hurt and someone passed away in his family. Is he going to be available this weekend? We have to put pressure on Rodgers to keep this game close.

I wouldn't be surprised if Fede is part of the plan to cover for Shelby's absence.
He is going to have a huge role for us backing up Wake and Vernon. No Jordan or Shelby and our only other DE is a 7th rd draft pick which may not even be healthy. I see Odrick playing a lot of DE along with A. Johnson.
With players like McCain, and Fede waiting in the wings, players like Dion and Shelby acting like immature nimrods really hurts Miami very little.

If he's healthy and back with the team, there is no reason he shouldn't start.
If McCain is healthy I expect him to play a prominent role. One dimensional strength at this point, but very, very rare in that one strength. Green Bay hasn't seen him on tape for a month so they might not be prepared for him.

Different skill set to be sure. However, Shelby has been in for 127 snaps this year. Somewhat surprisingly, 42 have been vs the run, 79 in a pass rush, and 6 in coverage. although a different type of player, he can, and has to eat up some of those snaps.
Don't know about Odrick moving to DE much, as it appears that Starks is not 100%. I think Fede can fill in some, and do a good job. He may ever surprise.

Shelby being out hurts us in DL rotation against Green Bay.
There's no way to spin these. We're fractionally worse on DL -- at the exact time we need to be at our best.
