Many liked him last year to be a starter or at least contribute. H played in 5 games with 1 sack and 2 tackles. His 2 tackles were the same as Pouncey and 1 more than Dallas Thomas and Devonte Parker. He is only 24 and been here 2 years.

Do you still think he is gonna be a player?

Depends on the coaching. You can see the talent the guy has just watching him, can they get that out?

I think he'd make a nice back up LB on a 3-4 team. He also seems injury prone. He's cheap so I have no problem with him but I don't see much of a future.

I dont think he will ever be good here. I think he might be useful in a 3-4

Not a fan. The guy had the starting SLB job on a silver platter and blew it. Will probably not amount to squat despite his finheaven love. Typical!

Just let this soak in, we had to play Kelvin Shepherd to get this guy off the field.

Philbin also didnt think Devante Parker was good enough to start, and thought Suh was best in a 2 gap scheme.......

I think you forget Parker was injured and could not practice his routes or his timing.

Don't let 'hate' blind you- Namaste

If we ran a 3-4 he might be useful . In a 4-3 , nah

??

Parker was injured at the start of the year, it had nothing to do with Philbin.

He was NOT ready when he played in preseason that would be obvious to anyone that watched him when he actually got some snaps.

He IMPROVED over time and he HEALED after having surgery AGAIN.

Coyle should have been fired in 2014, that is on Philbin. Coyle is the guy who had the defense playing too slow and based on too many reads not Philbin

I hope that they draft and sign enough talent at linebacker that McCain gets let go.

Nope. Sadly had his chance to step up and couldn't put it on the field.

As someone else said - he may be a viable one trick pony capable of outside situational rush in 3-4

What about Brandon Marshall, Reggie Bush, Karlos Dansby??? I sure am blinded by all this forgetfulness.

I said it last year, and I'll say it again...the previous staff "coached out" all his instincts. You could see that he became very "tentative" and didn't attack like he had before. I think that he probably got burnt on routes a few times or something...and got bitched at to the point that he now just "maintained responsibilities"; instead of being aggressive like he was before. If he has a good staff, he will have a chance...but if this is just the same thing over again...you might as well cut him now.
