Listing to the Herd right now and Mortensen is saying how Tannehill is much better than many people thought when he was drafted. He said that Tannehill seems to be immensely talented and in control, which has even surprised some teammates.

the buzz is growing people...could tanny be the week 3 preseason starter....stay tuned...

cowherd HATED tannehill in the draft by the way...

This. I think he has shown great progress so far...and if he deals in preseason I think he's got a legitimate shot to start. I hope so anyways.

I think by week 1 he's the starter. He's is way more talented then Moore and Gerard once he gets in the preseason his talent will show, his biggest knock was experience not talent

i kept on saying...if we picked this guy or even moved up. I was very confident because of our coaching staffs pedigree on developing qbs and having them play at a high level. If this was any other staff of the last decade that coached the dolphins with this guy I would be scared to death when we drafted him, but I see nothing but success when they decide to give him the reigns. I feel different about this team than I ever have being a young 24 year old fan..im excited

Eventually his learning curve will taper off - he won't make the enormous strides we are seeing and he will have to start soon to make the incremental growth - when he starts from the get go next year he will flourish

I'm on the Tannehill bandwagon and I'm convinced this guy absoultely needs to be the #2 QB, not the #3. Either Moore are Garrad will not be on the roster on opening day.

In the words of Wes Bunting over at NFP.com; It's not what Tannehill is now; but what he could be, 5 yrs from now. These are the words that I will always remember regarding Tannehill. Bunting kept saying over and over in his pre-draft analysis how raw Tannehill was, but was still able to play like he would become something special with more experience and seasoning. I hope he's right!!! I believe the right coaches are here to get Tannehill to the next level.

like Joe Rose has been saying Tannenhill has the "it" factor. time will tell....

Damn, we might have something special here. Maybe Sherman, Philbin and Jeff do know what they're talking when targeting in on Ryan and making a half assed attempt to sign Flynn.

Look, some guys just have it, and they get it. Others have to really work at it. I'm not saying Tannehill is one or the other, but I hate the assumption that it is some catastrophic error to play him the first year, no matter what. You have to be honest with the team and play to win now. Guys don't want to hear that we're waiting for next year. If, HUGE IF, if Tannehill shows he's the guy right now and the team knows it and the coach decides not to play him, you risk losing some guys.

Yeah, he's young, lacks experience and maybe he turns out to be the best QB on the roster anyway. Maybe he's got it like that? Lord knows we were bound to get lucky at some point. We have suffered in the QB black hole for like 2 damn decades now. LOL.

just an fyi but matt flynn was named the starter for the opening preseason game...so he must be showing something...nice low blow attempt though

True...but Flynn is now just an after thought for me. If Philbin really believed he could be the guy, he would be a Dolphin right now. The fact that he isn't tells me all I need to know. Plus, between Gerrard and Moore we are fine until Tannehill is the guy...which may be sooner rather than later.
