Chris Mortensen talking up Tannehill on Colin Cowherd Show

I guess in early TC, he looked head and shoulders over everybody, but Wilson has closed the gap. Jackson really isn't in the picture (duh)

Not really. Early in TC Flynn was struggling, but he tapered off. Now Wilson looks better and better, so much so that a lot of people seem to feel that he will close the season as the starter.

edit: Wait Cowherd likes Landry Jones? LOL. You put Landry Jones on any team besides Oklahoma and people aren't talking about him being a top 10 pick. The kid doesn't have it. So many people see a decent college QB and think "Oh my god Sam Bradford 2.0!" but he has NOWHERE near the same accuracy or decision making.

his logic was flawed... Basically saying that Tannehill was the 3rd best QB in his own conference so he shouldn't be drafted that high.

I personally think if he continues to look good, he should start game 2.....no reason (Looking good or not) to have him start against the Texans in Houston, let him start against the Raiders in Miami if he proves to be ready, a much more friendly admisphere, against still of good defsne, but not as good as the Texans.

I am impressed that people are actually giving the kid positive press. It seems like anything associated with the Dolphins and their QB position was an automatic strikeout in years past. This seems to be a refreshing change of media prospective.

Let's all hope it plays out the way we all want it to!

improve qb play...what??? those moves are about them not trusting sidney rice is healthy and a crappy core...trying to upgrade their depth at wr

Good points too (their WR Corps is shaky), but I also read Flynn has done nothing to separate himself from the others, and some of the players still prefer Tavaris Jackson. If this is still the case, than that contract plays a big factor on the decision to start him. If that is not still the case, then I stand corrected.

The Contract is easy to get rid of. I mean, if he doesn't start and is cut after this season, that ****ing stings because $10,000,000 for a backup QB for 1 year is atrocious.... but if he starts an entire season and still sucks, he's looking at roughly $16 million dollars to be paid out.

there's certainly something about him that makes me feel different vs. the QB's we've had in the past.

I think some of you just need to let the coaches handle Tannehill in the same manner they have been. Let him keep working and keep trying to climb the depth chart. Nothing is going to be handed to him, he'll have to earn it. I think at the end of it all he'll feel better about himself, more confident and he'll have earned the respect of his teammates if all involved see that the starting QB job wasn't handed to him but earned by his hard work.

Chanting for Tannehill to start now is just wasted energy. And yes I had Tannehill as my #2 QB in this draft behind Luck mainly because I think he has a high ceiling but Weeden was a very close 3rd.

the contract is exactly why flynn will get first crack week 1 at the job...it doesn't matter if he looks like dog terds they payed out that money they are gonna want to see what he's got...you can't go to your owner and tell him hey boss the guy we told you to shell out $16 mil guaranteed to or whatever...yeah we are gonna go with the 3rd round pick making 1/16th of that a year to start the season...any owner worth a damn will send you packing for something that trifling...

carroll may be in good standing right now or his gm may be but pull one of those and your in hot water...

There is a flaw with that approach though. If you start Garrard and he wins against Houston...you can't really bench him after that. So you have to wait until he struggles. If Tannehill is the best option...play him against Houston...if he's not then wait until he's the best option

b/t if the vets on the seahawks are backing tavaris i take the worst sacks in the history of the game jackson they need to be hit in the head with sledge hammers...

Same reason Kolb got first crack in Arizona...and I hope he's the starter when we play them this year.

exactly...kolb was getting first crack no matter who came in that building that was available...david garrard same thing...if he went to zona kolbs contract would dictate first crack...and it should...they're on the hook for bookoos of money...you better not give up too soon he go somewhere else on the cheap while you are still paying him by the way and he become legit...you'll be fired so fast if you survive the initial contract you gave him in the first place it won't be funny
