Chris Mortensen talking up Tannehill on Colin Cowherd Show

Part of me really feels like Philbin & co want to start anew with Ryan from day 1. In particular Zac Taylor, who sat closer to Tannehill in the meeting room, looks to be providing good coaching, like when he told Garrard to speed up the motion pre-snap. What's extremely encouraging is did you notice how Sherman embodies Vince Lombardi? True story! Peep his mannerisms. We finally have a legitimate staff that are forward thinkers. I mean we've always (despite the losing) been ahead of the curve, but the fact that our practices are so efficient and well organized speaks volumes and couldn't be more productive from a developmental standpoint. It's safe to go out on a limb and say the future is quite bright and it's only a matter of time before the new era begins. Did you see Philbin's analysis on Ryan's throwing ability? It gave me goosebumps! Tells me we have something here. Kid is smart. Could've been a surgeon. Shows you his makeup is extraordinary. Moreover he is more athletic than Aaron Rodgers. Seriously, if we start him we can't look back. That's why Joe Philbin took the job.

Jimmy Wilson broke up a pass from Tannehill to Michael Egnew. Couldn't believe Tannehill threw a pass to a TE.

Above is from Omar yesterday. Anyone else notice RT avoiding TEs as targets? TE should be one of our strengths this year. Let's see whom RT targets against Tampa.
Um... that was sarcasim. Tannehill has been throwing to TEs... fasano benifited from that in the scrimmage.

Tannehill is the "People's Choice"

Shouldn't we wait until he at least plays a few snaps in even a preseason game before anointing him as anything?? I want the kid to succeed but, JEEEZ!!!!!

if we didn't talk about stuff before it happened, all of us would have like ... 13 posts in 2 years.

Got to be very careful how you bring in your supposed franchise QB, even the great ones will look bad in the beginning. Marino looked good aginst the raiders when he came in the 4th, then the next week, he made some mistakes, Manning had a very up and down 1st year with the Colts, as did Elway. Brees had up and down years for the Chargers, Favre was an INT machine his 1st year with the Packers, Brady when brought in late in games looked average at best .

I would love to see Tannehill from week 1, but nothing helps a player more then the right type of experience and time.

You are actually arguing against your position by pointing out the QB's you have mentioned. You point out how they struggled when they first played, but it didn't hurt their careers. The cream rises to the top. Tannehill will either be good enough or he won't be, but it will have nothing to do with when the coaches decide to play him.

Kinda like buying a rolls royce ghost and not driving it! Wouldnt want it to get scratched! Remember, what makes the great ones great is they are not affraid to fail!

So all these baffoons who said Tannehill didnt have enough experience dont understand that its not how much you did of something that translates to the pros. Its how quickly you got to the level you did in shorter time span.

How many people actually thought for just a second about being a WR for two years and then suddenly your asked to take over the reigns?

People should be impressed that he played relatively well against the best.

It didnt bother me that we took Tannehill at #8 because the rookie salary cap took alot of risk away. If the kid is smart, has the prototypical size, has an arm, and knows the offense, your pretty much ahead of the curve. The rest is just experience now. Everyone will have to go through it. Even Luck. Its a team game involving coaching, players, system, and work ethic. So glad we have Philbin.

I can't wait for Friday's game. If Tannehill plays well in this first preseason game, the calls for him to be the starter will grow even louder.
