Clabo: incognito drunk dialed martin

In all fairness, Incognito is being judged by bad behavior many yrs ago. I don't recall any issues with him (until now) since he joined the team. He hasn't had a penchant for unsportsmanlike conduct penalties like he did his first couple of yrs in the league.

Well 4 years ago was kicked off the rams so I guess that many years ago.
Since his freshman year at Nebraska, all of his college and pro teams have ended up suspending him, cutting ties with him or both.

Is Richie an arsehole? Absolutely! But him being a racist Bully is a whole different matter.

About that voice mail again ... new information

On its face it is horrible. It is offensive. It sounds racist.

The voice mail Richie Incognito left Jonathan Martin in April is at the center of the public distaste for the Dolphins guard. The transcript indeed paints a picture of a bullying veteran using racial epithets against a younger player and threatening that youngster's life:

"Hey, wassup, you half-n----r piece of (expletive). I saw you on Twitter, you been training 10 weeks. I'll (expletive) in your (expletive) mouth. I'm gonna slap your (expletive) mouth, I'm gonna slap your real mother across the face. (laughter). (Expletive) you, you're still a rookie. I'll kill you."

Damning.

Except ...

The voice mail which Martin kept was later played in the Dolphins locker room around a group of players ... And Martin was the one who played it, according to two players. And he joked about it.

"This is the same guy that was laughing about this voice mail at one point in time, first of all," receiver Brian Hartline said of Martin. "Second of all, I believe that if you look through the whole voice mail, there's some things said that you probably shouldn't say in general, friends or not friends. But I know for a fact, that I've said things to my friends that I kind of wish I've never said, either."

There's another thing. According to a source close to Incognito, the transcript of the voice mail is not complete. It omits the last line.

After Incognito went on this apparent diatribe, his voice softens, and matter-of-factly he says, "Ok, call me back."

And ... Martin called him back, the source said.

Does this release Incognito from the racially charged words? No.

Do this add context? Yes.

Daily reminder: We don't know the entire story. Please withhold judgment condemning or condoning either side until we know everything.

Sorry you're wrong on this one. If Martin was really bullied then why haven't we seen him or heard his POV? Perhaps there's more that will be revealed about HIM? I'm not diminishing mental illness, which I suspect is behind this whole Martin thing, but I think he's a coward who kept these messages for months with the full intent of releasing them later. The messages were ironically released anonymously, which is totally gutless IMHO. If you were bullied and the media and public opinion were on your side then why not stand up like a man and say it! Don't release these messages like this. I think you are seeing why our team thinks this guy is a big, soft pu$$y who wasn't tough enough to play the game and man enough to admit it. We find out now that the coaches realized how soft this kid was and asked Richie to get him into camp for OTA's and to try to toughen him up.

While I don't use those racist words myself, I have used other expletives to describe my best friend and college roommate (and he did the same to me!) and all of it was done in jest--even 30 years later. As Hartline so aptly said today, "the media has bullied us" by jumping to conclusions and not allowing us to defend ourselves or listening to our POV. So far EVERY Dolphins player, white AND black, has unanimously come to Richie's defense and I think that is very very telling. He also revealed that Martin's best friend on the team was Richie and every time he saw Martin out on the town he was with Richie. That doesn't sound like bullying to me. No it sounds like a total bullsh!t fabrication to me.

Richie is the easy target and this was a contrived plan to exit the NFL. The next phase is suing the Dolphins, the NFL and the NFLPA for a big payday. Racism sells, but only one way--white on black, and rarely the other way around. Can you say Trevon Martin? Just like in this case the media jumped to all kinds of conclusions and condemned the guy without a fair hearing or even a trial. We all know the result. I'm sure I'll get pounded by some of you on this, but if this was a black player saying the same degrading things to another black player, or maybe even a white player, it wouldn't even be a story. This story is about race, but not as the media would have you believe--it's about someone using race as a means to an end. Martin wanted out, and he wanted to get paid, and this was his (or his Harvard educated lawyer parents) plan. The whole thing really stinks.

I Agree 100% YOU took the words right out of my mouth , to close to Richie Incognito , imo was set up over time by Martin and his 2 lawyer parents , they all knew how the public felt about Richie and Martin wanted out of the NFL he he used our boy Richie as the scapegoat wayout ,and IF TRUE i hope that Incognito gets one of the best Lawyers and dose some sueing of his own .....To Many Players On The Dolphins Coming To Richies aid for Richie to be the ugly one ....

A couple of facts. Martin saved the voicemail for 7 months. Who does that? If it offends him then bring it to Philbin within hours of getting it. Martin wanted to walk away from the team. Let him walk. Don't allow him to turn this into a money grab. He's trying to drag down the team that drafted him and gave him a chance to play football for a living. He's trying to drag dowm Cogs because we all know he isn't Mr. Wonderful so he becomes an easy target. Martin wanted out but WITH MONEY so he and his attorney parents turned this into a racial/ bullying scenario. Martin and family are the bad guys here. Don't let them get away with it! Martin doesn't have what it takes to excel at the game, he doesn't have the temperment to play pro football, he quit the team and he's trying to create an issue that isn't there. Just cut him, no other team will touch him with a 10 foot pole. He's a bad guy imo.

What part of "since he joined the team" didn't you understand?

heard the same excuses with Marshall. Both have had a long history of issues. He was with the rams for 4 years until he had the incident that got him released.

Also i dont buy that Martin had a plan because why even start the season if he had that plan. That notion seems the most silly of them all.

Thanks! It is looking more and more like a set up and every day will make that even clearer. Like intentionally leaving out the last line of Richie's voice mail. Or seeing how 100% of the players are in support of Cogs. Or how the players are now saying that Martin played the voice mail in front of them in the locker room and laughed about it. Or how all of the players are saying that Martin and Cogs were "thick as thieves" and best friends. Or how it is reported that Martin was heard asking players if he was cut out for the NFL. This whole thing is a contrived, premeditated bullsh!t scandal that is trying to use Richie's reputation against him as an escape from the NFL. Why not just walk away? There's no money in that. Do some research on Martin's parents and if will all become clearer. Read my OP below--Race sells.

Do you know the difference between a fact and an excuse? I guess not. Again, what part of "since he has been with this team" don't you understand?
Please cite character/behavioral issues with Incognito since he joined the Phins. That's all I'm saying.

Clabo needs to shut his pie-hole already and focus on what he gets paid to do...protect the QB. Get to work buddy, you're stinking up a storm at your real job. But you can sure gossip like you're own sewing circle.

Why do u never actually have a link to anything lol. Funny though when u say something about Ireland some are bothered but if you defend InCognito its ok lol
Personally I would have no problem with the team moving on from a low character guy like inCognito. I dont advocate boy scouts but he is not worth the trouble

Lol you must be a Martin lover. You need Grit on a football team!
