Class of 2010 Team Football Recruiting Rankings

Michigan has a top 20 class on all 3 major sites, and top 10 on Scouts. While not an amazing class for Michigan, it's the kind of class Rich Rod needed. He got arguably the best player in the state and a top 5 QB (Devin Gardner), another top in-state guy (Austin White), some top notch DBs (namely Cullen Christian, Marvin Robinson, and DeMarr Dorsey), and got good players at other needs (Richard Ash, JiBrell Black, Davion Rogers).

IMO there are more guys that will fit our Front 7 and more guys that could contribute early.

Props to Gene Chizik too. Thought he was a lousey hire, but he got a consensus top 5 class.

Surprised Cal isn't getting more love with getting guys like Chris Martin, Keenan Allen, and Gabe King.

I was raised in Florida and New Mexico so I love both UNM and Da U but I am absolutely stoked about New Mexico's recruiting class.

When Mike Locksley was hired away from Illinois all I heard was that he was one of the best recruiters in the nation.. boy is he.

He shocked the nation by getting Calvin Smith, a top DE from Hialeah to sign with the Lobos. All ESPN could talk about was how big of a surprise that was. Then he got two stud QBs to come on board in Tarean Austin from Hillsborough High in Tampa and Darian Godfrey who was the Texas 3A offensive player of the year after leading Gilmer High to a 15-0 record. He finished his high school career 4th all-time in passing TDs(tied with Colt McCoy) and 10th in career passing yards.
