Clayton on Colts QB's

They could as I suggested let Luck sit a year or get multiple picks, which are much needed, by trading Manning. They are perhaps worse then the 2008 Lions and need lots of help.

Either way, it's crazy to look at how great a shape the Colts are in...all from one season of sucking after several years of winning.

It's just not fair to us.

:(

There's going to be a few bidders for that #1 pick. If they're intent on keeping Manning, then they'll be looking to deal that #1 for a package of picks and maybe even a defensive player. That defense has been exposed this year more than anything. Manning is going to want some fresh talent, including another receiver. They could be very interested in Blackmon or, depending on how far they trade back, Richardson at RB.

Basically I think the Colts had an epiphany with Manning's injury. This team is built around 1 player and when that player gets hurt then they're screwed. They're going to change that, I think. That means upgrading the O talent around Manning AND building a more conventional defense.

But if they're OK with getting rid of Manning, then all bets are off. Who knows.

You guys count Luck as a sure thing and I don't get it... He is a great prospect, maybe the best ever, but that's all he is, a prospect. Maybe he is Pennington, who knows? Great accuracy, great work ethic but a 11-5 QB and no shot at the Super Bowl.

They will keep Manning and see what Luck can bring to the table...

They wont keep Manning & Luck IMO. Manning said himself that his contract is for 1 year with an additional 3 yr option. If they draft Luck they are not going to tie themselves to Manning for an extra 3 years.

Maybe he goes back to Tennessee

All you guys are wasting your time and trying to guess what the Colts will do. The Colts themselves don't know what they are going to do yet. They will not decide anything until they know if Peyton's injury will get better.

Still don't see how that's a "either, or" situation, but if he is saying... Just wanted to listen to the whole interview to form an opinion... Where was it? Do they have a podcast?

It has nothing to do with it, but was it Cayton or Kiper that had that controversy with an agent?

This is a message board. Discussing scenarios isn't what we are supposed to do?

Ever heard of restructure. These are contracts. I would bet Mannings camp would cut a deal to send him to his team of choice. If you could get a first for Palmer what can you get for a busted manning.

Don't look like we will be picking at number 2 spot.we will end up with a pick from 5-10 that's our LUCK

I don't know if "irony" is the right word, but it just seems wierd that one of the "symbols" for good LUCK is a horse-shoe and that is what the Colts have on the side of their helmet....

I didn't realize that until some guy on the radio pointed it out...

They would cut Manning for Luck.

If Manning is a free agent, I can guarantee you he won't be coming here. He would want to go to a team that is on the cusp of winning big. We just won't be there. Our only way of getting him is to trade for him, and I don't think we can afford that risk. He will be 37 years old next season, with a history of neck surgeries, not played in more than a year.......no way........I know he's to be a NFL Hall of Famer, but that would be a huge gamble, and one, if it doesn't turn out good, could cost us years of no draft picks, meanwhile being sucky every year someone else is using our high draft picks. You want to stay at the bottom of the league for years, make that trade for Manning.

win 4 or 5 games this year, and we could end up with the 10th or worse pick. remember this....Washington has 2 wins too, but we beat them, that means if we end up with the same record, they pick ahead of us in every other round.
