Just a quick note for anyone interested. I am in the Seattle and John Clayton was just on the local sportsradio station as he is every Tuesday at 11:30 (local time). I missed the main body of what he had to say today, because I was in a meeting. However, as he was getting ready to close out the show, he was summing some things up and stated that Tim Couch is moving close to signing with the Dolphins.

Obviously that is all I have, there is no link. I did not get to hear the "background" on that comment, so take it for what it is worth.
 
The herald had an article saying that he (Couch) has been following the dolphins all pre season, he lives in ft lauderdale, he likes Linehan's system, and his agent was saying that Tim would be a perfect fit for the Phins. Also in the article it was stated that he was trowing 60 yard spirals without any pain to his surgically reconstructed arm and shoulder.
 
Im surprised. I thought I heard Saban say the other day that we had no interest in couch.
 
So now its Corey Simon and Timothy Couch. Wheres all the money coming from? AJ Feeley? Nah, it cant be!

Saban will never tell the media what he is really thinking, IMO.

I doubt it, but would either AJ or Gus put up with being the third starter? Probably not. Therefore if couch beats either one of them i think they will demand a trade or get released. But then again couch hasnt played so its unlikely he will beat either one of them for the starting job if we bring him in.

No, he said he would take a look at anyone that could help the football team.

My question is, if we pick him up, does it then become a 3 headed monster or what? Who starts? Who gets groomed, etc?
 
BTW ... my sincere thanks to Cutthroat for passing this along with the appropriate qualifications and WITHOUT a screaming "COUCH SIGNING IMMINENT" subject line. :up:

Would you really be suprised if Saban did the opposite of what he has said? Braylon Edwards ring a bell? :lol:

Again, during the show ending summary, Clayton gave the impression that Simon was very much up in the air (although again I missed the meat of his segment). He indicated several teams were interested and did not even include Miami in those that were. He seems to think Simon is all about the money and will wait until the bidding gets up good and high before he signs anywhere.
