With our DC being fired and the 2 LB coaches gone it is clear that the weakest position on D is now going to go through the biggest change. LB will be the #1, #2, and #3 priority this offseason IMO. Goodbye Ayodele, Porter, and possibly Anderson. I see 2 to 3 draft picks going LB this year. We need ILB and OLB help at this point. JT is a ? and I think if they could pick up the right guys he would not be back as well - just see what they did with Holiday.

This team is going to get younger in a hurry with Porter, JT, Fergie, and Ayodele all possibly leaving.

Im with yah and there is a ton of talent this year at LB. WE NEED MCCLAIN...

I almost agree but we do have Wake, Crowder and Moses who I like.
Our safeties and receivers are super terrible in comparison to our linebackers that are a combination of average and developmental as a whole. I'd rather get a safety. WR, and NT before a linebacker. Hate to say it, but we have a bunch of serious needs not just one or two.

Look at what the Jets and the Ravens did in the AFC. I saw Lewis crushing Brady one play and dropping back and blanketing a TE another. We don't have that and until we get it this D will not be close to dominating. To run a 3-4 and dominate you need great NT and LB play. If you look at our LB's you MAY have a stud in Wake but who else? Crowder is a backup. Moses didn't even get much playing time so you don't know what you get there.

This regime appears to take the approach of addressing several positions each off season. Two years ago it was OL and DL. Last year it was Secondary and WR. Can't imagine LB won't be one of the positions that gets addressed this off season by bringing in a minimum of 3 new guys to compete.

Ray Lewis is a once in a generation linebacker. He really might be the best MLB of all time. It's not fair to compare him to what we have. I would love to bring in Dansby or draft Brandon Spikes, but I'm telling you that we are worse off at safety, nose tackle, and receiver.

A lot of the guys that the Dolphins signed in 2008 were stop gap signings until they can get drafted talent in here. No surprise the focus this off season will be the defense. I don't think Ayodele will be cut but definitely replaced. The cuts will more then likely be Wilson, Porter, Walden, and Torbor. Fergie has to be replaced and I would think that will be adressed quite possibly in the first round, depending on LBs are available. I would love to see Eric Berry slide to #12 but not a chance that will happen.

Not trying to say we have to have Lewis but there are some pretty good ILB's out there. Urlacher when healthy would give Lewis a run. The point is you need ILB's that are big enough to stuff the run, quick enough to cut off the corners and fast enough to stay with a TE or RB. We don't have anyone close to that.

I'd like Dansby and he may be availbe - Arizona may have to let him go. I don't think we are worse off at safety or WR. We have WR's - just not a #1. The Ravens had 34 yds passing and blew out NE! The Jets never have many passing yds but dominate on D. I don't think our problem is on O nearly as much as it is on D. We are blowing out 4 starters at minimum - 3 LB's and 1 NT (Ayodele, Porter, JT, and Fergie). That is 3 out of 4 LB's and that IMO is the only reason Crowder is probably safe.

And don't forget Penny...

I feel ya. It would be awful easy to blow our allowance down at the Defense Candy Store.

Might wanna also get a Hot Tamale NT, Jaw Breaker ILB, Pop Rock Safeties.

Our Phins Nation tastes sure changed from a couple years ago ... few like that kids stuff O-candy this year!!

That would be a reach. At #12 we should get more value than that. Weatherspoon may be available to us in the 2nd round.

IMO, #1 need DC. #2 LB coach (wld love ZACH) no#3 ILB and OLB with first two picks. I think Solai and Merling will see more playing time, with Merling coming in and possibly Langford and Starks seeing low percentage of plays at NT. I think its given Wake will play more and I hope to see more of Chris Clemons at safety.

Just think the addition of ILB, OLB and a low NT would make a big difference.

LB will have to be at least 2 of the first 3 picks. The only ones worth keeping are Wake, Taylor & Moses as a backup. The rest are really rubbish. McClain, Navarro, Sapp and Spikes should all be targeted if available
