I'm curious... I was against Lemon starting, because he's a Free Agent after the season is done. If he plays a whole game and kicks *** , his price will go up or we'll lose him. No matter what he does on Sunday, Cpep is still our starter in '07. It seems there's not much to gain, except for seeing how he can perform in 1 game that is meaningless to us as a team. We'll also probably have a run/pass ratio of 3 to 1... that's besides the point though.
To all you people who begged and screamed and lobbied for Cleo to start this week: CONSIDER, what if he SUCKS for a half like Joey has the last 2 weeks? If he's got 30 yards passing at halftime, or 100 yards and 3 INT's, what then? Put Joey in, a la a reverse of the last 2 weeks? Or let him suffer and stink it up, no matter what? What if he has 2 1st quarter picks? WHEN do we put Joey back in?
I'd like to know your thoughts, b/c as I said I was against him starting this week, and I'm curious of situational rationales...

Isn't Lemon a restricted free agent along with Bell and Welker? If so, that makes it a little easier to keep him as a backup. I'll be there to witness Cleo firsthand, my 3rd starting QB in my 3rd game this year.

If he sucks then we will see how he works with adversity, and if he can shake it off, and make a team comeback. All I have said is I want to see what he can or can't do. If we don't play Cleo, then we don't know if we need one or two quarterbacks in the off season?

With all the threads about Lemon having trade value this off-season i dont think he's a unrestricted free-agent this season. So if he isnt an unrestricted free-agent an he plays lights out against indi we could trade him for a pick(alot of people are saying a 2nd rounder). Which would give us 2 second rounders. If he does struggle, which i dont think he will, i dont think we go back to Joey.

This team needs a motivational, and a respected leader out of that position to pull it all together. I feel the team plays and respects Cleo more then Joey. Just think how he could do with a better O Line, and having ricky back next year, or possibly a back like Michael Turner from the Chargers to go with Ronnie.

It will be great just to have a leader in the pocket that can get things settled down, hold the Offensive team accountable, and believe we have what it takes to come back from being behind.

The team, if you mean recievers like Chambers and Randy MCMicheal, respects Cleo more because they're black and he's black. I honestly see some favoritism. Even the first game the yanked Daunte, Chambers was against it somewhat. And it seems those two refuse to catch Joey's balls even when they hit them right between the numbers from only five yards out. My mother could catch those balls. I think they favor the black QB's.

And don't get me wrong. I love Daunte. I was madly upset when he didn't come out like I thought he was going to. But I like Joey just as much as a back up and I think he's gotten an unfiar shake. I would almost hope that Cleo messes up and they put Joey back in to win it. And IMO I think he's done extremely well given the circumstances and such.

Everyone wants to see what Cleo can do. WHY?? He's not our starter, he'll never be. He'll prolly book it right out of Miami as soon as he gets the chance to. That's my take anyway.

You no what you just made no sense at all in your post, you know why, I didn't nor did anyone else bring race into this thread, so why did you? I don't care what color you are at quarterback, if you do the job, the job is yours. Race has no part in this, so please leave this out of any future posts, because this is not going to turn into a racial thing.

I said the players on offense were more behind Cleo, because you could see the hustle for the ball, and had the look of confidence that Joey didn't give them.

Cleo needs to play to see if he is our number 2 quarterback next year, because Joey probably won't be back, and we need to have some one solid in the number 2 slot just in case Duante has any future problems.

They aren't racist they did fine with Frerotte and Fiedler I think it may be more because they don't like him as a person not because what color his skin is.

Just to clear things up, I'm not racist. I don't want you guys to think that. I am just saying the recievers are racist, well at least Chambers ;)

Oi, you guys are too serious. I realize Stan's joke was a PUN. I realize the recievers are probably not racist. Geeeze. Guys need some medication or something. Although I don't know how you wouldn't like Harrington as a person, he seems great but who knows.

Anyway you guys need a vacation.

So how is he a racist?
