Cleveland/Akron/Canton Trip for ZT54 Enshrinement

All,

If anyone has experienced previous inductions, can you share your thoughts as to where to fly into and stay for the weekend’s activities in early August? We’d like to fly out of FLL, but MIA or PBI are in play. I see that there’s a casino in Cleveland, so perhaps a hotel near there? We’d also like to hit the R & R Hall of Fame while we’re in C-town. I’d also like to know if there will be a Finheaven meet and greet while we’re up there. Lastly, is getting an Uber/Lyft from Cleveland to Canton and back to Cleveland doable? It looks like 60 miles or so….thanks in advance.
 
I drove, I'm only 5 1/2 hours away, can't help you with the flying. I stayed in Cleveland there's a lot more to do there. There is plenty going on in Canton during the week but it's all football related, obviously. For activities outside of football, there's way more to do in Cleveland. Depending on how long you plan on staying, a renal car may be better. Ubering every time you want to go somewhere would probably get expensive and inconvenient. If you're going to visit the HOF, do it earlier in the week if you plan on staying longer than just the weekend. It gets packed during the weekend of the induction ceremony and you'll feel rushed as the crowd is huge. There will be plenty of HOF'ers there to sign autographs (I'm sure Dan will be there) but be prepared to pay for autographs and stand in line. You have to get tickets for it the same way they do it at player signings. I'm sure as it approaches there will be plenty of info on the internet.
I imagine there will be plenty of FinHeaven members attending we can start a thread once we're closer to the date and arrange something...
 
Doing the road trip from N. Flahda in a rental car then dropping it off and Ubering around before Flying home probably Monday. Going to stay in Cle which is a kinda neat city. Was there for a wedding a couple years ago in mid July and the weather was very nice. The hotels in Canton are pretty meh and they are going to be charging like it's NYE in Sobe that week as it's their only real opportunity to make bank. Better to stay in Cleveland. You want to stay in the Euclid area and I'd advise being walking distance to the R&R HOF which is right on the lake. Just pick a big brand hotel.
 
So I bought 2 tickets for the enshrinement but apparently you cant buy parking passes for that weekend? Im assuming we have to park off site and walk? Going to purchase 2 for the museum as well but wanted to figure that part out first.
