clock management....

This is absolutely 100% Nick Saban's fault. Over the past few games, we have been having to play catch-up towards the end of the games so clock management is something that should have been a priority. If nothing else, Nick should have been screaming from the sideline to hurry up or call a timeout.
I think Saban is so far over his head at this level that it will be years before he can even think about being an effective head coach. Its a shame...we thought we were getting a Ferrari but ended up with a Yugo.

You are SOOOOO right! This looks like a team that does not practice, EVER! The fundamentals are absolutely non-existent on this team.

I think Saban may still believe he's coaching college ball thinking the clock stops on 1st downs. His time management is horrendous!!

it was either Saban thinking the clock stopped on 1st down....or the players just didnt want to win. Looked like no one cared, hence the walking to the los.

so the player on the Field gets no blame?(Joey is our savior now)

Please Saban should have rebuild last season that my problem with SABAN
but Roman is during a GREAT job in Cleveland.

Saban is the reason Randy drops balls too.I guess!!
Chill out

Saban's a good coach. I think most knowledgeble football people would agree. Look, I agree this team is playing poorly, and fans are looking for blood (whether it be Cpep, Saban, or even accoridng to soem this week JTaylor-you all know who you are who wrote the trade JT threads), but there are a lot of holes on this team, as there were last year, and you can't fault Saban for that. The bad clock management today was not why we lsot the game.

We didnt know that when the bad clock management occured. With 4 minutes left we stood a chance. Nobody seemed to care that the clock was running down.
Also, the stupid penalties WERE one of the reasons we lost the game. Its been said by NFL coaches since I can remember....Penalties are a direct reflection of coaching.
I thought Saban was a good coach too. There is no argument that he's a very good college coach. Maybe even a superb NFL coordinator. I just don't think he's cutting it in the NFL as a head coach.

one man opinion:mad:

Yeh, I was thinking the same thing at times....especially when they needed a little more sense of urgency late in the game. Everyone seemed to be moving at normal speed after each play. Is that the sign of a team thats just going thru the motions? I'd say at 1-6....its probably getting close.

This team has NO discipline, poor clock management, and Saban's secondary "prowess" or "specialty" is a joke. Our secondary is the worst in the league, I am officially no longer fully behind Saban, he's going to have to earn back my support, because he and his undisciplined players have lost my support.

This season has been a disaster, agreed, but don't forget last year. We were coming out of the worst season in dolphin's histroy, the previous regime "Speil-Stadt" had made a royal mess of things, and Saban led the team to a vey respectable 9-7. The team was competitive for every game except the Cleveland game.
There were several experts picking the fins to go to the Suberbowl. Although I thought these predictions were a little unrealistic, I thought that this team was ready to compete for a playoff spot, and maybe the division. A lot of these off season predictins were a reflection on the respect people had for Saban.
One bad season doesn't make a bad coach. Bill Bellichek had some pretty bleak years in Cleveland. Would you say he was over his head? Bill Cowher suffered some ugly years in Pittsburgh. Should he have been fired?
The fact is that it is the players who have not made plays when they have been given the opportunity to do so, and have made mistakes when they shouldn't. They are self destroying. The 2004 campaign was ugly, but that team was really bad and looked as if there was no hope in sight. This year's team is a mystery, and I can't quite figure out the real problems. Obviously QB play has to improve, but it's not just on the Qbs. The O-line (which actaully played decent today), the secondary, the linebackers, the Wrs, the TEs, the kicker, and STs have all made their fair share of mistakes. The obvious scapegoat for these types of mental/discipline issue sis the coach. I really hope the media and fans don';t force Saban out. He's a very good coach, who I think will be successful with the fins. It will just take longer than I thought.
