only "negative" reports of John Beck have come out.

BP SIGNS MCCOWN TO A 2 YEAR DEAL and declares an open competition and informs beck that MIA WILL BE DRAFTING ANOTHER QB. (beck negative) *sign of a lack of confidence in the guy*

BP calls beck and tells him to BULK UP. (beck negative) *sign of disappointment in the guy*

BP showing MORE INTEREST IN QB MATT RYAN THAN ANY OTHER PROSPECT. (beck negative) *sign of a desire for a higher ceiling than what beck offers*

BP showing MUCH INTEREST IN QB JOE FLACCO. (beck negative) *sign of desire for a higher ceiling than what beck offers*

BP stated that they have watched every single game tape of every single game last season and even some from the year before. BP has seen John Beck's many sacks when he came in and how the OL all of a sudden looked worse when he came in. BP saw how very David Carr-like Beck looked out there in his 5 games in which he played.
BP saw how very Culpepper-like Beck looked when his very small hands caused many unforced fumbles.
BP saw how very Culpepper/Carr-like Beck looked when he showed a lack of vision causing bad plays and sacks to develop from an OL that played fine with Lemon and Green were in there...

BP ordered every single pass that Matt Ryan has thrown throughout his college career. Im sure that he saw the VT comeback game in which made JI "intrigued and very impressed" with Ryan according to reports.

So BP has seen that Matt Ryan has great "VISION" where john beck lacks it miserably.

BP has seen Matt Ryan's size to john beck's midget shortness and lack of weight that even caused BP to all john beck and "order" him to "hey, we need u to BULK UP if u expect to even be given a shot in 2008"!

BP has seen Matt Ryan get his team into the endzone when Beck loses a game for us 0-3 when our defense played superb against the steelers and fail again and again and again and again against 4 other teams forcing cameron to pull him out in favor of a "lemon"...who finally led us to a victory.

then, beck loses another fumble in garbage time of an already lost game and finally passes for "1" and ONLY "1" TD all season! Yes, in 5 games he throws only "1" TD!!!!!!! He threw 5 INTS. and fumbled "7" balls.

BP wants a QB that can take his team into the ENDZONE! He wants no part of 0-3 losses in 2008.

BP is showing all the signs that he is leaning towards Matt Ryan of BC at #1 overall.

Remember, he showed us he has a position "other" than OLB in mind at #1 with the attempts at aquiring calvin pace via "FA". then deciding to "keep" JT after he failed to do so.

Remember, he stated that he will determine if Carey plays LT or RT after training camp and that he believes he can find an OT in the 2nd round according to reports showing that he is thinking of a position "other" than OL at #1 overall.

I just don't get some of these irrational posters who overrate john beck and underrate Matt Ryan?

Smokescreens and I do believe Jeff Ireland said that he had Beck graded very high last year in the draft. I think John Beck will be starting for Miami in 2008, you can believe what you wish though.

Any clues this time of year ... take with a grain of salt. Ron Wolf who Parcells invited to watch a game, thought very highly of Beck. Yes, Bill Parcells sent the Wolf!

I'll never forget the expression on Parcell's face when Beck fumbled right into the hands of the pass rusher in that late season game last year.

In my opinion, Parcells mind was already made up at that point.

That play was just shy of Garo Yepremian's pass attempt in terms of goofiness and pitiful all at the same time.

clues??? there are definitly some clues in the thread... I think I'll join the "one star" approval rating.

It's simply not true that the only things leaked have been negative. One of the analysts on Sirius NFL Radio said that he had spoken to Parcells, and that Parcells does like Beck. I don't remember which analyst this was, but it was about two weeks ago, and it was also discussed on this board.

Beck is bulking up. So? That's what most guys do between their rookie year and year two. And at 212 lbs, it's no secret that Beck needed to bulk up.

As for Beck taking a lot of sacks, that's just not true either. Beck gets rid of the ball very quickly. It is an extremely noticeable difference between Beck and Lemon how much quicker Beck gets rid of the ball. At the time Beck took over, Chambers was gone, and Chatman was injured. We had no weapons on offense at all. It was at that point where teams just sent everyone at us on blitzes, and our o-line had no chance. And we had no RB or TE capable of helping out against the blitz. That's why the line looked s bad.

It doesn't do any good using FACTS to support Beck. His detractors don't listen anyways. They refuse to give the guy ANY credit whatsoever. Although, if we do draft Ryan and he stinks it up his rookie season, they will be the first to make excuses for him by citing his poor supporting cast and asking for patience with his development. They will say we invested too much in him to give up on him so quickly.
Unfortunately, they don't want to give Beck the same courtesy.

Mr. Ed....you are making this far to complicated. The biggest clue that BP might be disappointed in JB is that 1) BP knows football 2) Hes seen JB play.

John Beck might turn out to be the next Steve Young....but NOTHING we've seen so far could possibly suggest it.

I think he stays hot on Ryan and at the end of the day, gives Atlanta a bargain by allowing Atlanta to pick Ryan for a the #3 and maybe a third rounder. I think he'll pick one of the Longs with the #3 pick.

And I think BP picks Flacco (or another QB) in the second. But regardless of who the pick is, we definitely have to bring another QB in. It would be suicidal to go into a season with Beck and McCown. BP is alot of things..he's not foolish.

1. BP had to sign a quarterback in free agency. Thats not a knock on Beck, what would he have to do to show that he is impressed with Beck ... have him be the only QB on the roster?

2. Beck does need to bulk up, thats not gonna sway the decision if he starts one way or another. QB's take alot of punishment in this league and he needs to be able to withstand it.

3. BP has to show interest in Matt Ryan. If he didnt, he wouldnt be doing his job. When you have to top pick, you have to fully explore every possible player to take at the top.

4. Again, to go along with #3, the tuna has a responsibly to see every possible player in the draft.

Wow. This is the worst case of biased analysis and spin I have ever seen.

[mod] stay on topic[/mod]

Almost all NFL rookies regardless of position need to put on weight to better themselves in the NFL level of play. No team would go into the season with 2 QB's so naturally any FO would scout possible draft picks and then weigh the options in FA against the draft pick possibilities. Doing what your paid to do might explain looking into ALL draft possibilities with the number 1 overall pick. Just another Beck basher reaching for something that's not there, good luck with that.
