Not trying to be negative nancy but this needs to be addressed. This segment is dedicated to Wheelers' poor tackling! I can't believe the rookie showed us up the way he did last night. Gio Bernard ran all the way from one side of the field to the other side and STILL took it to the house! Puhhlease Wheeler should of had him wrapped up behind the line. C'MON MAN!!! Well at least our boy Ellerbe looked stout but damn Wheeler needs to start tackling better and even his coverage is questionable at best. It's not like we have someone on the current roster that could push him for his spot so we really NEED to address the LB position in the draft because we are lacking depth my friends!

Jelani Jenkins needs to start stepping up in practice, because we might need him to replace Wheeler.

I might get criticized for this but… I would consider Jordan as a replacement. The kid is a stud and seems to be behind OV on the depth chart and has reduced reps because of it, especially more so now if Wake is back fully.

Get that athlete on the field and let him do something… I was intrigued by this thought after I saw him covering Gronk down the field last week. It will also give him more space to work in and use that speed/athleticism. Could add a spark to the LB corps which is a bit spent right now and has been for a good few weeks.

For the first few weeks, this guy was showing why he was worth signing. Last night, not so much, but let's be real: This team has problems tackling universally, and the inability to stop 3rd and long opportunities has driven me insane, almost more than the o-line.

the defense was winded esp after back-toback drives to start the 3rd. People here had problems with Dansby and Burnett too.

Wheeler is the worse tackler I have ever seen... that is the one thing he is consistent at. I've never seen defensive players get dragged down the field like our guys.

Oh our 3rd down defense always finds a way to F up! Man it kills me, we struggle so much to convert a 3rd and 1 while opposing teams are easily converting 3rd and long on us ALL DAY!

You know that would interesting.. I can just see him being non existent in the run d. All I know is that he is our freaking 3rd overall pick with that being said our coaching staff better find out a way to use him effectively!

To be fair that is what benard does. He has been doing that in college and now he is going to do it in the league.

However, wheeler has been tackling poorly the last few weeks.

If I were Kevin Coyle I'd be thinking about replacing Wheeler with Misi and Misi with Jordan, putting Wheeler in the situational role Jordan currently occupies.

That idea actually has some merit. I'll give the Bengals players their due though. They are loaded at the skill positions.

On that play, almost everyone missed; Grimes missed him twice. Going down the sidelines, one of our guys, Trusnik I think, was getting blocked in the back over and over again, no call. I wasn't as concerned with Wheeler as I was the receivers catching a pass and usually our first guy couldn't tackle them.

Let's do that! Get that athletic freak of nature out there! Can't be any worse than having wheeler out there. Imagine Jordan's wingspan in zone and trying to throw crossing routes as an opposing QB.
