How would you "handle it"?

I'd go to his face, and say..."Do it, or shut the **** up."...Further, I'd do it in front of all his
boys. If he wants to fight, we'll fight. If he backs down, he's the bitch. It's ****ing easy.

ETA; I LITERALLY just had this happen yesterday. A crook in the chow hall didn't want to
sit in a certain stool and I had to make him. He was an old school Mexican dude, and there
were no stripes in manhandling him. It was a simple battle of wills. He eventually sat down,
and after he was done eating, he came to talk to me. We talked. He was mad, and I was
mad, but I broke it down to him like this;

-Rules state you have to sit there.
-I told you to sit there.
-You defied me.
-I had to talk ugly and disrespectfully towards you.

-You gave me no choice.

Know what? He understood that logic breakdown. The next step is that we are swinging, and
EVERY crook in that line saw us deal with the situation like men...Not BITCHES or SNITCHES
and resolve it.

It perpetuates a culture in this country that needs to be eradicated. High school girls get raped and we have school districts covering it up because the rapist is a football player. Women get raped in the military and their commanding officers sweep it under the rug. Women get raped every day in this country and as a society we are far too quick to blame the women ..."it's how that acted" ..."it's how they dressed." This happens all the time. And don't, for a second think I don't know that sometimes those accusations are unfounded. I know some are. I'm speaking about those cases where there is clear evidence that a violent act occurred and that a rape was committed. Far too many women are afraid to even to report it these days because they don't trust law enforcement to be on their side.

I've spent a good part of my career around Alpha-males. For the past 10 years or so, I've shared a workspace with a guy who's the epitome of an Alpha-male. We're good friends both inside and outside of work and I've never heard him or anyone else ever say anything approaching the stuff you guys are defending. As a matter of fact, I'd bet my paycheck that if someone went there in front of him, he'd have the same reaction I'd have.

Being an Alpha-male doesn't come with a requirement to be crude and vulgar. That's a characteristic cretins take on for themselves. Let's not paint the whole group with that brush.

If you say crap like that to someone's daughter (I'm assuming the women you work with are beget from a mother and father), it's okay.
But if someone says that stuff to your daughter, it's not okay.

No, that's because you just made it very clear that you have one set of rules for yourself and a different set of rules for others in regard to the same behavior. Thus, hypocrite.

dude that is your personality to stand up for yourself, this is not how Martin is, this is a guy who can't even look you in the eye when your having a regular conversation....that's why I have no doubt Martin believes he was bullied......I also believe his poor play played into him not being able to deal with it anymore

That's not the point. Yea, what he said was messed up. But it's a far cry from threatening to rape someone. It's trash talking. It's what guys do. Do people cross the line? Absolutely. Did Incognito cross the line? Probably. But the media is trying to make him out to be some sociopath, and people are hanging him out to dry and make an example of him. Just because he used racial slurs doesn't make him a racist and just because he joked about what he'd do to Martin's sister doesn't make him a rapist. It makes him just like many other guys who sit around and say crap trying to get under their friends' skin.

The media, however, takes these quotes out of context and put them out as if they should be taken literally. It's stupid.

i dont think anyone truly believes this was a serious threat to run a train on his sister and force her to participate in a bukkake session. it's being shown as an example of the disrespectful and degrading things that were said to martin, over an extended time frame, in order to beat him down mentally. i think most people agree he should have taken to punching the **** out of incognito......but he didn't since he doesn't have that in him, or he feared some sort of retribution from other players in the locker room. hence he finally decided he had enough and is going to most likely sue the dolphins, possibly the nfl, and whoever was involved for hrassment and creating a hostile work environment.....and i think he will win some sort of settlement
