Coach Sabans press conference

I just heard/watched the PC, I thought it was funny when Saban seemed to get annoyed when someone asked him a question and he was like "now why would you draw such an assumption" i have no clue why i found it funny i just did. I did like how he kept preaching about giving the team an identity and it was kinda cool to seem him 'joke' around a lil bit about him hoping JT would've picked that one pass off.

Neither is going to be a huge part of Miami's future. Saban is going to look elsewhere and if any quarterbacks get cut (the Nall/O' Sullivan battle in Green Bay for instance, Lorenzen, Kingsbury), or are there any quarterbacks available (Couch) to look at, then we'll give them a look.

If he's looking at Lorenzen i hope it's for the O-line, dude is like 3 bills....pilsbury throwboy!!!:D

Man, this is so refreshing to have a coach that knows what he's doing, is articulate enough to tell you what he's doing, and within reason (without giving away secrets) tells it like it is.

Agreed. I'm very impressed with the way he deals with the press. Definitely a step up from that last coach we had.

The problem is we only have one preseason game left, but I would definitely look elsewhere. I'm not suggesting any of those are going to be even better than what we have, but I'd look because what we have isn't good. I would even like to see one of our other QB's get a start with the first team and if they don't do well, ok, go back to Frerotte/Feeley.

Well none of the qbs you mentioned are going to come in this year and become the starter. I dont think we're bringing in qbs. Other positions yes.but the QB position wont be addressed until next year imo. I will also say I think Feeley has shown me enough improvement this offseason to make me believe he'll be a top 20 QB. I know that sounds nuts compared to what 99% of the people here say but I'll tell you why.

!) He went 3-3 last year, after adjusting to the game, in a far more putrid offense than the one we will put on the field this year

2) He's obviously worked on all of his deficiencies from last year (props to Linehan, Saaban and the QB coach). He's eliminated the turnover problem he had, he shows occasional touch, he takes what the defense gives (although he's defaulting too quickly to short stuff - still better than forcing it), he's going through at least two reads now and occasionally three, he is getting comfortable in the scheme and you can see it in the results. He's always had heart and he's always had guts and most importantly he's always had the arm. The o-line might turn into a top 20 line by midseason. If that's the case and considering our running back talent he's going to elevate his game one or two notches if he's allowed to play. To me, Saban really needs to make the right decision for the franchise and not go with the "safe" choice of Gus. If aj starts the year I could see us winning 8 games. If Gus starts 4 to 6
