Coaches

Hey guys just want to get your thoughts... how much influence does a coach have on player. I was having a convo with my brother who believes coaches dont have much of an influence on a player. he thinks is all about the player itself. I believe the opposite coaches have big influences on players hence the dolphins last year and this year what do you guys think..

From my POV, coaches have just as much effect one time as another, the difference being the different ways. In jr high and HS, my coaches had a profound effect on me as a person and as a player. All my coaches always stressed fundamentals, and, even through I played my Jr High and HS ball in two different states, I was always on a run first team so all the blocking and tackleing had lots of commonality. I had great men as coaches, and, absent a father figgure in my life, they were the closest thing I had to it.

In the pros, from my impression, coaches are more managers than teachers, but, it still takes a good manager to put people where they will be the most successful. I still think coaches have a huge effect, but, simply in a different way.
