Coaching candidates simplified

I am not doing back flips about any of these guys. Hopefully they are better than I think they are.

Dave Toub has a better than medium chance of getting this job. Dave Hyde said he reportedly blew the Dolphins away in his interview, and he's along with Mike Zimmer are the only coaches rumored to be getting a second interview. There is speculation that Toub was in Miami over the weekend for his second interview, but that has not been confirmed.

I have the feeling the guy from the bears will get the job......just a gut feeling.

Ozzy rules!!

Your right, I just bumped him up.

This is what some here do not understand. It is not only who or what you coach it is how you plan to construct a staff and team from the position of Head Coach and if you can impress with that strategy you have a good shot.

With Houston eliminated from the playoffs, I'm surprised so little mention is made RE: Rick Dennison. He orchestrated a masterful offense for Houston that consistently overcame a lot of adversity (in the form of injuries, including Shaub, Leinhart, and Andre Johnson). He would be ideal to install a true zone blocking scheme (dating back to his time with Denver and Mike Shanahan). We've got the personnel (especially with a mobile center in Pouncey and good run blockers on the edge with our WRs) to run a ZBS and I think many of our players would be ideal fits. Not sure if he would want to change to a 4-3 defense or just keep the 3-4, but he would IMO likely keep a strong measure of continuity among our current players. Also worth noting: IF Miami is indeed interested in (and lands) RGIII, Dennison's offense would be a good fit for his talents.

I have not heard any rumors of Dennison interest involving the Dolphins, but he would be a good fit IMHO.

Edit: I've seen a mention by others that Daniel Thomas has a similar skill-set to Arian Foster, HOU's star HB. Getting a true zone blocking scheme in Miami MIGHT help Thomas REALLY flourish.

I was thinking about him while I was watching the Houston/Ravens game. Dennison has been in charge of some high powered offenses.

I know I will get ripped for this one, but...................... shoulda stayed the course with Sparano. Players were loyal to him, and alot of the problems with this team were clearly not from his leadership or coaching skills. Look what we have now!!!!!!!! Nothing but a moron for an owner who can't keep his nose out of the football side of things, and upper management with big egos, and very little clue as to how to run a football team.

I think we are among the few in this regard :)

I'm not gonna claim that I know tons of information about Dennison.

I do know he has an impressive resume. He's worked with some good coaches. Is he a 'leader of men', as many here have said they require in their next HC? I don't know.

Anyone versed in all things Rick Dennison here that can lend a little insight into his personality and coaching style? How do players like him?

Honestly, I believe the Sparano era hit the point of no return once Ross dragged Ireland along for the Harbaugh interview last year. I know if I was Sparano, I wouldn't be able to have a healthy/productive working relationship with my boss after (Ross) pulled a stunt like that. I'm not really pro-Ross or pro-Sparano. I just think Tony had his run. He was liked by his players, but in reality I think he was in over his head and it was time to move on. It's probably best for both parties IMO.
