Don't let the fact that this wound up being a close game fool you. The only reason for that was Garaffolo getting knocked out or they would have hung 40+ on us.
The team is collectively dumb with bad penalties, holdings, poor fundamentals and questionable game management. There is a huge difference being the clipboard carrier for Peyton Manning and being the head guy. Gase is out of his depth. Period. This "offensive genius" and "quarterback whisperer" sucks at his job so far with just 13 points generated when the other team was trying hard. Say what you want, NE went into a shell at 31-3. I hated the Gase and subsequent Joseph hires. I was vocal about this the entire time. This is exactly what I expected would happen. For one, I don't believe their are such things as "QB whisperers". Philbin was that because he received a paycheck from the same company that pays Aaron Rodgers. Gase is one because he gets credit for the Denver offense under Peyton Manning - I was skeptical to say the least. And if Gase is going to get credit for the 55 passing TDs Manning put up that year then he also must accept the criticism that goes w the way that same offense was thrashed by Seattle's D in the SuperBowl. ***** football doesn't win very often. This team is still too finesse. Knowing Blount was going to get the ball they still couldn't tackle him when they had to - it looked like the 1980's defenses we had around here. Vance Joseph is clueless as well. Why did we sit back and give the receivers cushions? Who's genius idea was that? Through multiple head coaches Darren Rizzis units consistently get flagged for blocks in the back or can't properly field a kick off.
This team needed a veteran HC to make them respectable. Too many years of unqualified people at the helm and we have a culture of stupidity, lack of disciple and inability to execute well enough to turn the page. Adam Gase - not the answer. Thank you Mr Ross.
