Does anyone know if there are any openings on the staff or if Cam is bringing in his own people?

Some of the coaches signed extensions last week but that doesn't mean they will be on staff. After Cameron meets with all of them, a determination will made if they should stay or not.

Yeah Cameron said he was gonna call plays, so I doubt Mularkey sticks around. It'll either be Shula or Garrett as OC doing game planning mostly IMO.

John Clayton said on sportscenter that Cam wants to keep Capers as DC.
As for OC i hope Mularkey is gone also.
It was cool to here him say he had a Bob Griese jersey growing up,because i also had a Griese jersey growing up in Maryland.
I like this choice alot!!!!!!!!!

I like this hire too, mostly because of the fact that we will finally have an offensive minded coach that can get this offense running and passing (the past two years under Linehan and Mularkey have been a little pass happy). Also Cam seems willing to leave the defense alone and let Capers handle it which he is great at doing (see this past season). The whole coach interview process I was hoping either for the Fins to get an offensive minded head coach that would leave the defense in the hands of Capers or if we got a defensive minded coach I was hoping to get someone like Mike Martz to be OC, so all of this ended up working out. Overall, none of us know if Cam will be the next Payton or Mangini for this team or a complete bust, but of course as a Dolphins fan he is our new head coach and I will support him until he continually messes up, and I may be a little biased in the mean time.

He also should take a look at the Secondary, WR, and Special Teams Coach.

I think the only guaranteed coach to stay is Capers. He signed his deal and Cam said he couldn't think of anyone else he would want to be DC. I think it's obvious he doesn't want MM as OC by saying he's doing the play calling. I think he's hoping by making such a statement MM will do the honorable thing and just leave vs. him firing him. I also like the way he indicated he would at least interview all the coaches before making any decisions. Other coaches come in and just start getting rid of people. He seems a lot classier, like Don Shula use to coach (And I'm not comparing him to Don from a success piece, just the way he kind of carries himself). They also eluded to the fact that they were likely to offer M.Shula a job in the staff somewhere, but I'm not sure if that was Cam saying that or the FO ? I think they may have a tough choice to make here at OC. If J.Garrett isn't offered the OC, he may leave. But I think Shula will only come here if he's offered at least the OC or higher. Since it sounds like Cam will be doing the play calling anyway, it doesn't matter all that much, but I'd like to get them both, so I wonder how the FO will work that one out ? They may have to come up with some other high level position for one or the other or just not get both. It's obvious though that Cam didn't seemed all that thrilled with # of asst's that were on the staff, so I see him cutting back on some of the extra fluff positions.

Cam basically walked into his staff....... the only obvious thing is that Mularkey is no longer needed and will prob be replaced with Cams guy. We are actually without a QB coach for the moment is that not true tho ???

I'm hoping for:

HC: Cam Cameron

Assis. HC/QB: Mike Shula

OC: Jason Garrett

OL: Hudson Houck

TE: Cam's guy

WR: Cam's guy

RB: Bobby Williams

DC: Dom Capers

DL: Dan Quinn

LB: George Edwards

DB: Mel Phillips

ST: Keith Armstrong
